When Will Next Pokemon Go Season Begin? Pokemon Go Wiki, Gameplay, and More

Pokémon Go

Pokemon Go is a popular mobile game that launched in 2016. It is based on the Pokemon series and was developed by Niantic in partnership with Nintendo and The Pokemon Company. The game uses GPS technology to let players find, capture, train, and battle virtual Pokemon creatures in the real world. It is free to play, but you can purchase extra items if you want. The game started with around 150 Pokemon, but now there are around 700 to explore.

Pokémon Go received mixed reviews, with some liking its idea but not its technical issues. Despite this, it became one of the most downloaded and profitable apps of 2016, with more than 500 million downloads worldwide. It made location-based gaming and augmented reality even more popular.

The game also encourages people to get physical exercise and helps local businesses by attracting more customers. However, there have been some controversies, such as accidents and public disturbances. Some countries have even set rules on how the game can be used. As of May 2018, Pokemon Go is played by more than 147 million people per month and has been downloaded more than 1 billion times worldwide. By 2020, it had revenue of more than $6 billion. Pokemon Go remains popular to this day, bringing players an exciting Pokemon experience that combines the virtual and real worlds.

How to Play Pokemon Go

In Pokémon Go, players first create and customize their avatars after setting up their game accounts. These avatars are then displayed on a map based on the player’s real-world location. The map features various points of interest, including “PokéStops” and “Pokémon Gyms.” PokéStops can be equipped with items called “Lure Modules” to attract more wild Pokémon, some of which may be rare. Gyms, on the other hand, serve as battlegrounds for team King of the Hill competitions.

These points of interest are usually located in interesting or important places in the real world. Originally, the locations of PokéStops and Gyms were redesigned from Niantic’s previous AR game, Ingress. Unfortunately, this resulted in PokéStops and Gyms being placed in dangerous or inconvenient locations, such as the Korean Demilitarized Zone or abandoned military bases.

As players move around in the real world, their avatar moves around the game map as well. Different types of Pokémon tend to inhabit different areas. For example, Water-type Pokémon often inhabit bodies of water. When players encounter a Pokémon, they can choose to view it in AR mode, use the device’s camera and gyroscope to display the Pokémon as it would in the real world, or use a generic background.

While the game is free, players can choose to make in-app purchases. These purchases allow players to obtain additional Poké Balls and other in-game items. For example, Incense can be used to attract Pokémon for 60 minutes, Lure Modules can be used at PokéStops to attract Pokémon to that location, and Lucky Eggs can double the experience points gained for 30 minutes.

Each Pokémon is assigned a Combat Power (CP), which is a rough measure of its combat strength. As players level up, they have the opportunity to capture Pokémon with higher CP, which makes them harder to catch. Players can also evaluate the strength of their Pokémon using the “Evaluation” system provided in the game. This allows them to measure the abilities of their Pokémon.
