Stick to one set of weapons
While it may be tempting to use every weapon you come across, it’s important to stick to just one set of weapons for your initial campaign run. This is because scrap and upgrade materials are very scarce.

Scrap serves as the main currency in the game and is used to purchase and upgrade items. Improving weapons can be very expensive, and by the time you reach the final stages of the first campaign, it’s crucial to be as powerful as possible. Aim to upgrade at least one preferred lance to +15 by the end of the third world to make the final act more manageable.
get more scrap
In this version of Relic, there is less scrap than in the first game. One of the best ways to get more scrap is to hunt treasure chests, most of which are now visible on the 3D map. You’ll know you’re approaching a hidden chest when you hear a flashing sound. Another way to get scrap is to keep breaking props like barrels and vases. Use a large range melee weapon like a greatsword or roll them to separate them.
Using mutators
Armor sets in Remnant 2 no longer have unique bonuses. Instead, these rewards have been transferred to Mutators, which are special items that can be equipped in any of your weapons. These Mutators are very useful early on, but don’t really come into play until fully upgraded. Upgrade your Mutators by visiting the Dwell in front of the Area 13 Shooting Range. Keep in mind that upgrading them requires a lot of resources, so make sure you’re well prepared.
How to take a step back
Backing up is a faster defensive move than a normal dodge roll. It’s great for avoiding combo attacks and navigating tight spaces. To perform a backslide, simply press the duck button without any movement input. You can make a regular or charged melee attack after retreating. Every melee weapon in the game has a unique stabbing move tied to this mechanic, and some have special attacks that can only be performed after standing back.
Against armored targets

Armored enemies take significantly less damage from physical attacks. If you notice the gray damage numbers, you can shoot different parts of the enemy’s body, continuously shoot the armor to break it, or switch to a weapon that deals elemental damage.
Even a regular gun with Hot Shot or Acid Shot mods can take out armored enemies quickly. Damage over time effects like Bleed and Burn are also effective against armored enemies. Applying Corrosive status to a gun or mod can also effectively remove armor protection.
Equip Relic Fragments
You can enhance your stats by equipping relic fragments into your equipped relics. Open the inventory screen, examine the relic, and hover over an empty shard slot to see your options. Relic shards provide stat boosts divided into offensive, defensive, and utility bonuses. You can get higher quality shards by playing harder difficulties, with Regal shards dropping in Apocalypse mode.
Swap prototypes for faster upgrades
Once your primary archetype reaches level 10, consider replacing it with a secondary archetype of your choice to level up faster. Equipped primary archetypes seem to gain more XP than minor archetypes, so there’s no reason not to do this other than missing out on an archetype’s Prime Perk.
To use the second archetype, you need to spend a total of at least 10 trait points. Additionally, specific career-related items can be found or purchased and unlocked by talking to Wally in Ward 13.
