A new Minecraft: Java Edition update, known as snapshot 24w04a, was released for computers on January 24, 2024. It brought a huge change to the Breeze and Armadillo creatures that would later appear in the regular game. World Optimization Changes

  • Optimizing a single player world and running a dedicated server using forceUpgrade will now also upgrade the world’s entities and the contents of the poi directory

  • Added recreateRegionFiles dedicated server startup parameters

    • It will trigger a world optimization similar to forceUpgrade, but will also rewrite all blocks regardless of whether they have been upgraded or not

  • Breeze no longer retaliates against attacks from: skeletons, wanderers, zombies, husks, spiders, cave spiders, slimes

  • MC-266449 – Breeze does not attack or retaliate against creatures it sees

  • MC-266707 – Trial generator ignores custom_spawn_rules

  • MC-267925 – Removing an item from a flowerpot while holding it causes the item to end up in your off-hand

  • MC-267937 – Shooting Breeze with the Piercing Crossbow crashes the game

  • MC-267938 – When the “spawnChunkRadius” game rule is set to a large value, the world loading percentage value may be overwritten by the spawn chunk loading animation

  • MC-267941 – End portal kills mobs at spawnChunkRadius 0

  • MC-267953 – No element is focused when opening the realm world backup menu using keyboard navigation
