Dead by Daylight – Patch 7.0.1
Dead by Daylight 7.0.1 update (called the “End Teleport Chapter”) is now live. This update focuses on bug fixes and balance improvements to enhance the overall gaming experience. One of the highlights of this update is the buff provided to the killer named “Singularity”.
Players have previously expressed concerns about the lack of energy and limitations of Singularity’s gameplay, especially when it comes to capturing survivors. This update aims to address these issues and make Singularity even more fun to play.

In addition to the killer buffs, the 7.0.1 update also includes improvements to the game’s bot AI. Bots can now approach targets and survivors more effectively from the start of the game, which will result in a more engaging and challenging experience for players.
Additionally, fixes were made to the “For the People” benefit. Previously, this perk incorrectly caused a stamina effect that was originally intended for a perk “designed for this”. This issue has now been resolved, ensuring benefits function as expected. Dead by Daylight Wiki
“Dead by Daylight” is an asymmetrical multiplayer survival horror game developed by Canadian studio Behavior Interactive. The game is played in a one-on-four format, with one player taking on the role of the killer, while the other four players take on the role of the survivor.
The Killer’s goal is to capture each survivor and impale them on a sacrificial hook to satisfy the malevolent force known as the Entity. Instead, the survivors must evade the killer and work together to repair five generators in order to power the exit and escape.

The game mixes original characters with licensed content from popular series such as A Nightmare on Elm Street, Attack on Titan, Crypt TV, Evil Dead, Halloween, A Nightmare, and Iron Maiden “, “Last Dead”, “Naughty Bear”, “Nicolas Cage”, “Resident Evil”, “The Ringer”, “Saw”, “Silent Hill”, “Slipknot”, “Stranger Things” and “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.”
Dead by Daylight was originally released in 2016 for Windows. It subsequently released on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in 2017, Nintendo Switch in 2019, and Android, iOS, PlayStation 5, Stadia, and Xbox Series X/S in 2020. In 2023, it was verified to be compatible with Steam Deck.
The game was originally published by Swedish studio Starbreeze Studios until 2018, when Behavior Interactive acquired the publishing rights. The Nintendo Switch version is published by 505 Games, and the physical versions of the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S versions are published by Deep Silver.
Despite receiving mixed reviews upon release, Dead by Daylight was a huge commercial success and has amassed a player base of over 50 million. A film adaptation of the game is currently in development at Blumhouse Productions and Atomic Monster Productions.
Dead by Daylight gameplay
In Dead by Daylight, gameplay revolves around an asymmetrical horror experience where one player takes on the role of the killer while the other four players take on the roles of survivors. These gaming sessions are called trials.
The main goal of the survivors is to escape justice by repairing five of the seven generators scattered across the map. Repair the generator to power the two exits, which survivors need to open in order to leave. The killer’s goal, on the other hand, is to capture and impale all survivors before they escape. When survivors are hooked, they are sacrificed to evil forces called entities.
If there is only one survivor left in the trial, the escape hatch will appear in a random location. If the killer doesn’t close the hatch before arriving, the survivors can escape. Additionally, if the killer manages to close the hatch or open the exit door, an “endgame crash” will begin. During an endgame crash, survivors have two minutes to escape, with the timer extended if there are injured or hooked survivors.

While hunting survivors, the killer can damage them with weapons, leaving them in a dying state after a second attack. Alternatively, the killer can catch the survivors off guard and catch them in one fell swoop. While survivors can attempt to escape when first impaled, the chance of success is low. Other survivors can come to their rescue and free them. However, if a survivor is hooked a third time, they are sacrificed to the entity.
Survivors can choose from a variety of movement options, including sprinting, walking, crouching, and crawling. They must try to evade the killer by breaking his line of sight or successfully evading him during the chase. Most killers move slightly faster than sprinting survivors.
However, the Killer is slower during certain actions, such as jumping over obstacles. Killers cannot jump over obstacles that survivors may drop in their path, they must go around them or destroy them. Each killer has unique powers that give them special abilities.
For example, the Ghost can turn invisible and move faster (though can’t attack survivors while hidden), while the Hillbilly wields a chainsaw and can sprint quickly and instantly knock out any survivor in his way. These abilities can be enhanced or modified using add-ons acquired during gameplay.
Survivors are able to search chests scattered throughout the trial area, which may contain useful items such as maps, keys, toolboxes, med kits, and flashlights. Most killers emit an innate “terror radius” around them, which creates a heartbeat sound that increases in intensity as survivors get closer.
Survivors can also see a red light, known as the “red spot,” projected from the killer’s head onto the ground, indicating the direction they are facing. This red stain can help survivors predict the killer’s moves, especially when they’re about to turn a corner.
Some killers can suppress their terror radius and red spots under certain conditions, allowing them to surprise unsuspecting survivors. Overall, Dead by Daylight offers a dynamic gameplay experience through its intense cat-and-mouse mechanics, unique killer abilities, and various strategies employed by both survivors and killers.
