DP Season 2 Episode 6 Recap and Ending Explained
In the last episode of “DP”, the whistleblower Beom Goo who was carrying a USB flash drive was arrested. Before being taken away, he wished Jun Hao and Hao Lie all the best and asked them to work hard as soldiers. In prison, Fan Qiu asked Captain Lin Xie to take care of the DPP soldiers, and Lin Xie expressed his gratitude for his concern.
The episode ends with Joon-ho, now a soldier 364 days away from being discharged, recalling the people he has met and said goodbye to since he enlisted. He wondered if he would remember them after leaving the military.
The USB drive that serves as the core evidence has always been with Fan Jiu. He hands it to Seo-eun at the courthouse, and flashbacks reveal Jung-ho distracted it so they could get the USB drive safely for the trial.
At trial, overwhelming evidence on a USB drive revealed government responsibility for the deaths and injuries caused by Kim Il-ru’s attack on a colleague. Therefore, compensation will be provided and the government acknowledges its responsibility. However, sentencing on this admission has been delayed.
The ending of “DP” is bittersweet and brings a sense of peace to the characters’ lives. It highlights the emotional toll of fighting the system, but also the importance of uncovering the truth. The choice to end the narrative on a soft, peaceful note was considered excellent and appropriate.

DP Season 2 Episode 6 Plot
In the sixth episode of Season 2, Joon-ho finds himself running into Park Sung-woo, a vicious old acquaintance he once worked with. Sung-woo is seeking revenge and the military arrests Joon-ho. However, Junhao behaved cunningly and successfully deceived them by giving them an empty USB flash drive. He moved the content to another device and hid it from their view, desperate for the truth to come out.
At the same time, Hao Lie and Fan Jiu tried to help Jun Hao escape, which aroused the dissatisfaction of the military, who believed that their actions posed a threat to national security. In response, Haolie decided to leave the army early, become a civilian again, and planned to expose the corruption of military leaders.
He proposes a deal to his superiors: If they suspend the arrest warrant and action against Joon-ho, he will retrieve the USB drive and hand it over before the trial against the government proceeds.
During the scuffle during transportation, Junhao attacked Chengyu, an acquaintance with a grudge, forcing him to crash the car. Junhao was able to escape, but Chengyu was injured.
As the government’s trial began, tensions grew between military lawyers and attorney Seo Eun. Xu En needs to bide his time and wait for the USB drive to arrive. The state argued that the Kim Il-ru incident was unforeseeable and therefore no immediate rescue measures were taken.
Seo-eun, however, argued for a duty of care and claimed that Corporal Zheng’s life could have been saved through more effective procedures. The state retaliated, emphasizing the amount of ammunition used by Ri-ru.
To support her argument, Seo Eun called Captain Lim Ji-sub, who was directly involved in the incident, as a witness. Although it looked like a delaying tactic, the judges approved the move.

Ji-seop testified about the logistical challenges of providing aid at remote military bases near the demarcation line. He objected to the need to wait for orders before saving lives and insisted that abused soldiers should not wait for help before experiencing a mental breakdown. However, without the USB flash drive, his remarks lack sufficient evidence.
When Joon-ho appears outside the court, Hao-yeol is relieved to see him and asks for the USB drive. Ho-yeol tries to detain Joon-ho, but Sung-woo steps in, claiming it’s his business now. The government has ordered Cheng Yu to retrieve the USB drive.
A fierce fight ensues between Jun-ho and Sung-woo, with the latter seeking revenge. In a rage, Cheng-woo strangles Jun-ho and beats him several times, but Jun-ho manages to apologize to Cheng-woo, which further intensifies his anger. Just when the attack turns brutal, Hao Lie steps in and ends the violence.
Ho-yeol asks Joon-ho for the USB drive again, but Joon-ho refuses, claiming that he no longer owns it.
