In Baldur’s Gate 3, the term “item” refers to a game mechanic that allows the player to categorize or assign certain items in a character’s inventory. This feature is similar to the “mark as trash” feature found in many other role-playing games (RPGs), allowing players to easily identify and manage items they no longer need or wish to keep.

When you “Add to Items” in Baldur’s Gate 3, you actually select specific items in your character’s inventory and tag them for a specific purpose. This purpose may vary depending on player intent and game mechanics. By designating items as “commodities,” players can quickly distinguish items they may want to sell, trade, or otherwise manage separately from the rest of their inventory.
To make this system visually intuitive, the game uses icons or indicators that appear on items that have been added to the “Items” category. This indicator acts as a visual cue to remind players which items they have earmarked for a specific purpose, such as selling or trading.

The “Add to Item” feature included in Baldur’s Gate 3 provides players with a convenient way to organize their inventory and simplify the item sorting process. It helps players avoid accidentally selling or discarding items they intend to keep, while also making it easier to identify items they intend to part with.

Baldur’s Gate gameplay
Baldur’s Gate III is a role-playing video game that offers single-player and cooperative multiplayer modes. Players can choose to create one or more characters and form a team with computer-generated companions to begin the game’s story. Additionally, players can team up with others online to form a co-op team using one of their characters.
Compared with previous games in the Baldur’s Gate series, Baldur’s Gate III uses turn-based combat, similar to Larian Studios’ earlier games Divinity: Original Sin and Divinity: Original Sin II. However, this time the combat system is based on the rules of the fifth edition of “Dungeons and Dragons”, adding depth and strategy to the game.
