Yakuza Infinite Wealth Game Pass
Yakuza: Like a Dragon: Infinite Fortune will not initially be available on Game Pass, breaking the trend set by its predecessors on the platform. RGG Studio producer Masayoshi Yokoyama clarified in an interview with Automaton Media that there are currently no plans to release a Game Pass. This decision is different from the studio’s past strategy, which has seen games such as “Yakuza 0” and “Yakuza Speed” enter Game Pass.
Yokoyama explained that Game Pass is seen as a way to introduce new players to the Yakuza series, as evidenced by the release of Yakuza Gaiden: The Man Who Erased the Name on Game Pass in November. This bridge game provided a more accessible entry point for new players and was the precursor to Dragon Soar. However, since Infinite Fortune is the next mainline game in the series, the main goal initially wasn’t to attract new players, which makes a Game Pass launch less appropriate.
While there are currently no plans for Game Pass, Yokoyama hinted that a version similar to Yakuza: Like a Dragon could be considered for a later release on the platform. Until then, fans can look forward to the game’s unique features, including a Hawaiian setting, a 70-hour main story, and the addition of iconic actor Danny Trejo to the cast as Dwight.

In Yakuza: Infinite Fortune, players can control Ichiban Kasuga and Kazuma Kiryu and their squad members as they explore the Isezaki Ijincho district of Yokohama and the city of Honolulu, Hawaii. The game brings back Yakuza: Like a Dragon’s turn-based combat system, in which each character, including Kiryu, can choose a different “job” or class, each offering unique abilities and playstyles.
In his special “Dragon of Dojima” job, Kiryu can switch between various fighting styles and even engage in real-time combat, similar to the fighting gameplay in earlier “Dragon” games. The Poundmates summoning system returns, allowing players to summon various characters from the series, such as Shun Akiyama and Kaoru Sayama.
In addition to classic mini-games such as karaoke, darts, and mahjong, “Infinite Fortune” also introduces new games such as “Crazy Delivery”, a food delivery game inspired by Sega’s “Crazy Taxi”; Sujimon Battle, A fun Pokémon-style game; and Miss Match, Kasuga’s dating app. An important side event is Happy Resort Dondoko Island, where Kasuga manages her own resort island, with tasks including resource gathering, crafting, and social interaction. Kiryu has his own side event called Bucket List, which focuses on reuniting with old friends and allies from previous Like a Dragon games.
Gameplay blends turn-based combat, diverse mini-games, and engaging side activities to provide players with a rich and fun experience in the vibrant environments of Yokohama and Hawaii.
