Improvements in version 2.2.0 of “Xenoblade Chronicles 3”
The latest update for Xenoblade Chronicles 3, version 2.2.0, brings several notable improvements. A big new addition is compatibility with the “Noah” and “Mio” amiibo figures. Players can now scan these amiibo in the System > amiibo section of the menu screen to unlock special clothing items for their characters. For Noah, the “N Consul Outfit” is available, a variant that does not include Noah’s, Lanz’s, or Uni’s jackets. Likewise, Mio amiibo can unlock the “M’s Consul Suit” costume, as well as variants other than the Mio, Sena, or Taion jackets.
Additionally, players can choose to receive these special rewards without an amiibo. By meeting certain in-game conditions and talking to the NPC Miibomii at the Llyn Nyddwr camp in the Furness region, players can earn the same rewards as those earned through the Noah or Mio amiibo. These new features enhance the gaming experience and provide players with more ways to customize their character and game progression.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 gameplay
“Xenoblade Chronicles 3” is an action role-playing game on Nintendo Switch, providing an engaging gaming experience. Set in the vast open world called Aionios, players can explore the largest map in the Xenoblade Chronicles series to date. The game differs from its predecessor in allowing up to seven party members to take part in combat, including a special “hero” character. There are 19 heroes in the base game, and 4 more heroes are introduced in the DLC, each with unique skills and abilities that can be obtained through story events or side missions.
Players can also freely switch between character classes, unlocking different abilities by enhancing the hero’s affinity with the team. The game’s day and night cycle affects in-game events, and players can use fast travel options and a navigation system for efficient exploration.
The combat in “Xenoblade Chronicles 3” uses an action-based combat system, and players can control the protagonist in real time. Unlike past entries, players can switch characters mid-battle. The introduction of the Interlink system adds an element of strategy, allowing specific pairs of characters to fuse into powerful Ouroboros forms, controlled by a heat meter. The game also retains the familiar “chain attack” mechanic, allowing players to chain multiple attacks for increased damage.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Development
The creation of Xenoblade Chronicles 3 began with ideas generated during the development of Xenoblade Chronicles 2, the second game in the trilogy. Series creator Tetsuya Takahashi drew inspiration for Xenoblade Chronicles 2 from the iconic Mechonis sword and Uraya Titan from Xenoblade Chronicles.
The concept of Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is the result of bringing these two worlds together, symbolized by the broken Meconis sword piercing the wounded Uraya Titan, representing the war between the two kingdoms. Takahashi proposed this innovative concept to Nintendo in May 2018, and the first production team of Monolith Soft, known for the “Xenoblade Chronicles” series, completed “Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Tortoise” in August 2018. Initial development began after Erna – El Dorado.
