Where to Find Malnok Stronghold Diablo 4?
In Diablo 4, the Malnok Stronghold can be found close to Kyovashad, on the eastern side of the Fractured Peaks region. To reach the stronghold, travel east from Kyovashad and pass the Immortal Emanation Dungeon. If you have already unlocked the Ulyam Tundra, you’ll find the Malnok Stronghold located south of it.
Upon arriving at the stronghold, head towards the center of the area. Your character will remark on the icy and snowy conditions, expressing that they are worse than expected. In the center, you will encounter the boss of the stronghold undergoing a malicious ritual.
To start the boss fight with Frosthorn, the Ice Clan Champion, you need to make him vulnerable. Initially, he is invulnerable to your attacks. To halt the ritual and make Frosthorn vulnerable, you must defeat three Elite Goatmen positioned to the west, northeast, and southeast of the stronghold. These formidable foes, known as Ice Clan Stormcallers, are accompanied by hordes of goatmen and Elite Ritual Guardians. Engaging in combat with them won’t be an easy task, as they possess powerful magical abilities and unique elemental powers.
After successfully eliminating all three Ice Clan Stormcallers, return to the center of the stronghold to confront Frosthorn, the Ice Clan Champion. The battle unfolds in multiple phases. In the first phase, evade his slam and slash attacks until you deplete his first health gate. Moving to the second phase, Frosthorn will create ice circles around you, freezing and immobilizing you for a few seconds. Dodge these attacks while continuing to deal damage to him. Finally, in the third and last phase, he will teleport the ice circles at a faster pace. Dodge these attacks as well and keep damaging Frosthorn until his HP bar is fully depleted.
After defeating Frosthorn, make your way to the Wanderer’s Shrine, situated on the northeast edge of the boss arena. Light the shrine to reclaim the stronghold for humanity. This action will attract merchants, transforming the stronghold into a convenient trading hub. Additionally, one of the notable rewards for completing the Malnok Stronghold is access to the Anica’s Claim Side Dungeon, where you can explore and claim its rewards at your leisure.

Malnok Waypoint Diablo 4
In Diablo 4, waypoints play a crucial role in facilitating travel throughout Sanctuary. However, waypoints are only available in settled areas, so they are not as abundant as one might hope. In the Fractured Peaks region, which is the starting region in the game, there are seven waypoints. While they may be spaced out, it is still worth seeking them out for the convenience they offer.
Most waypoint locations provide easy access to vendors, smithies, dungeons, class ability challenges, or nearby events. Activating a waypoint allows you to respawn at that location if you die in the wilderness, making it essential for efficient exploration.
Here are the seven waypoints available in the Fractured Peaks region:
- Nevesk Waypoint: You need to venture back to Nevesk to activate this waypoint, which becomes available after visiting Kyovashad. Nevesk offers a few points of interest, including low-level quests and an aspect for the Druid class.
- Kyovashad Waypoint: This waypoint is automatically activated after reaching the city of Kyovashad with the hermit. Take the time to explore the surrounding shops and offload your Murmuring Obols, if you have completed any events.
- Margrave Waypoint: Located south of Kyovashad in the Dobrev Taiga region, the Margrave waypoint serves as a convenient travel point for nearby activities. While Margrave itself may not be particularly remarkable, heading east from here leads to the Maulwood dungeon and additional quests.
- Yelesna Waypoint: Yelesna is another settlement in the Fractured Peaks zone and becomes a useful location after completing certain in-world events. It features a Curiosity Vendor who trades Obols for random gear pieces. There are also quests and points of interest in the surrounding area, including an elite enemy to the west.
- Bear Tribe Refuge Waypoint: Located in the northeast area of the zone, north of Malnok and west of the College of Light, the Bear Tribe Refuge is a higher-level area with powerful bear enemies. Ensure you are adequately prepared before venturing here. The area offers various quests, a shrine to the east, and an elite enemy to challenge.
- Menestad Waypoint: The Menestad waypoint is near Sarkova Pass, a settlement northwest of Kyovashad. While there may not be anything particularly notable in this area, to the northeast lies the challenging stronghold, Kor Dragan. Menestad serves as a good starting point when you are ready to take on that stronghold.
- Nostrava Waypoint: This waypoint is located in the western area of the zone and functions differently from others. You must first clear the Nostrava stronghold to unlock the settlement, which comes with its own waypoint.
