Your chosen starter Pokémon will also play a role in your research, as you’ll encounter a shadow version of it after completing the first page of quests. In addition, you’ll receive Candy and Candy XL specifically for your chosen starter Pokémon, helping you further increase its power.
However, it’s important to note that while your starting Pokémon choice is important, it’s not the sole determining factor in the rewards you’ll receive throughout your research. The main reward combination will also be affected by whether you choose the Diamond or Pearl version for your event badge. This choice will ultimately guide your journey to capture Dialga or Palkia and use their adventure effects to advance your research.
So when considering whether to choose Turtwig, Chimchar, or Piplup for the Pokémon Go 2024 Tour: Special Research in Time and Space, consider your preferences, your strategy for capturing Dialga or Palkia, and the overall rewards you hope to earn in your Sinnoh adventure. Choose wisely, as each starting Pokémon offers its own unique rewards and experiences throughout the Special Research mission.

Pokémon Go
Pokémon Go is a mobile game released in 2016 that allows players to catch virtual Pokémon in the real world using their smartphones. The game was developed by Niantic in conjunction with Nintendo and The Pokémon Company for iOS and Android devices. The game is free to play but offers in-app purchases for additional items.
When it first launched, Pokémon Go featured around 150 different Pokémon, but by 2021, that number had grown to around 700. While the game was praised for its innovative concept, it was also criticized for technical issues. Despite the mixed reviews, Pokémon Go remained a huge hit, with over 500 million downloads worldwide by the end of 2016.
The game introduced location-based and augmented reality (AR) technology to a wide audience, encouraging players to get outside and be more active. It also helped local businesses by increasing foot traffic. However, the game also sparked controversy.
It has been linked to accidents and has caused problems in public places. Some governments have expressed concerns about safety, leading to regulations in certain countries. Despite these challenges, Pokémon Go has remained extremely popular, with over 147 million monthly active users as of May 2018 and over 1 billion downloads worldwide as of early 2019. By 2020, it had generated over $6 billion in revenue.
How to Play Pokemon Go
Pokémon Go is a mobile game where players catch virtual Pokémon in the real world. After creating an account, players can customize their avatar and see them on a map based on their real-world location. They can find special locations called PokéStops and Gyms where they can acquire items and battle other players.
As players move around, their avatar moves in the game. Different types of Pokémon appear in different places; for example, water-type Pokémon often appear near water. When players find a Pokémon, they can see it in the game’s augmented reality mode or in the regular background. They can take photos of the Pokémon they find.
Although the game is free, players can purchase additional items such as Poké Balls and Incense. They use these items to capture Pokémon and attract them to their location. Pokémon have Combat Power (CP), which indicates how strong they are in battle. Players can enhance the combat power of Pokémon by using Stardust and Candy obtained by capturing Pokémon.
In Pokémon Go, players don’t fight wild Pokémon to catch them. Instead, they throw Poké Balls at them to catch them. If they catch a Pokémon, they get Candy and Stardust. Candy can be used to level up or evolve Pokémon. The game also features special events like Community Days, where players can catch rare Pokémon and get special skills for them.
New Pokémon are added to the game regularly, and players can battle them in gyms and raids for rewards. They can also battle other players in Trainer Battles and Team Go Rocket Battles.
