Top Boy Season 5 Finale Explained
The highly anticipated final season of Top Boy has arrived, and that certainly hasn’t hindered the show’s progress. The Netflix series revolves around London’s power struggles and cutthroat underworld, starring notorious drug dealers Sally (Kane Robinson) and Dushane (Ashley Walters). Season five delivers an exciting finale filled with tension and unexpected twists.
Warning: Spoilers ahead! In the season finale, a riot breaks out at Summerhouse after a young girl is killed in a police car while chasing Dushane, who is wanted for the murder of Jeffrey. Dushane seeks refuge in his late mother’s apartment, where he meets a man sent by Wilson named Latif, who agrees to help him escape the country. Shirley (Simzi Jr.) later meets Dushane at his mother’s apartment and provides him with a false passport and escape funds. Their conversation reveals their complicated relationship, with Shirley acknowledging that Duchamp firmly placed money and power before her.
Meanwhile, Sully discovers that Jacques (Jasmine Jobson) is the one who stole his drugs. He confronts Kieron (Joshua Blissett), who pretends not to know about Jaq’s actions. When Sally and Kieron meet, Sally expresses his displeasure at being cheated, leading to a tense confrontation. Meanwhile, the riots in the manor continued. When Jaques attempts to return the stolen drugs to Sully, she is ambushed by Dushane, who takes the bags to pay for his escape with Latif.
Sully, now aware of Kieron’s deception, orders Junior (played by Michael Maris) to take Kieron away. In the chaos, Jacques reported Keelon’s death and the theft of drugs to Sully. She realizes that Kielon’s death was ordered by Sully, who is now determined to find and kill Dushan. Jacques returns home to Bex, while Sully concentrates on finding Dushane.
In a gripping showdown, Dushane attempts to escape the estate with Latif’s help, but is pursued by Sully. A gunfight breaks out between Dushane, Latif’s men, Sully, and Junior, resulting in the deaths of a young drug dealer and Junior. Eventually, Sully cornered Dushane and shot him. After Dushane bleeds out, they get into a heated argument over stolen drugs, money and power. Sully then realizes that Duchamp is dead.

Top Boy Season 5 Plot
The end of last season left many unanswered questions. After Sally shockingly murders Jamie, whom Duchamp had pinned on his retirement aspirations, the fate of Sally and Duchamp’s previously grudged relationship remains uncertain. However, Sully’s worries don’t end with Dushane in the upcoming fifth season. Jamie’s brothers Stef and Aaron, who tragically lost their beloved sibling and breadwinner, may also have revengeful intentions.
Additionally, the storyline involving Liverpool gangster Curtis, despite his death in season four, remains compelling. Curtis’ criminal organization remains, and despite Sully’s warnings to stay away from London, they may still be relentless in their quest for revenge. Their goal? Curtis’ pregnant ex-boyfriend Lauren and her sister Jacques. Hawking, who plays Lauren, expressed her hopes for the new season in an interview with Digital Spy, envisioning Lauren having a chance to find happiness through the birth of her child and the culmination of her grueling journey.
