The game is made using an improved version of the engine from the previous Tomb Raider game. This means it looks better and runs smoother. It introduced new features such as colored lighting and more detailed graphics.

Tomb Raider III has sold millions of copies worldwide and is loved by many players. However, some critics felt that it did not bring enough new ideas compared to earlier games. Some people also find it difficult to play.

In 2000, an add-on game called Tomb Raider III: The Lost Artifact was released, adding six new levels to the game. Now, in 2024, both the main game and its additional content will be remastered to create a new series called “Tomb Raider I-III Remastered.”
