Test The Lords of the Fallen on PC

Even though it’s called Lords of the Fallen, a lot has changed since the 2014 version. Think of it as a fresh start, solving problems from a decade ago and learning a lot from recent similar games. It’s obvious that they took inspiration from FromSoftware’s Elden Ring.

Unlike a vast open world where you can go anywhere, the game world called Mournstead is more like a straight road. It’s still enjoyable to explore different areas and face different creatures. You’ll never feel like you’re stuck as you follow a clear path through the game. You need to reach certain points guarded by powerful bosses in order to progress, but this doesn’t feel restrictive.

Lord of the Fallen gameplay

In Lords of the Fallen, you play from the perspective of your character. Similar to the first game, you can use melee weapons and magic to fight enemies. The gameplay and combat in the game are similar to other games like Souls.

To start, you can create your character and choose from nine different types. The game world is really big, much bigger than the 2014 predecessor. There are two worlds stacked on top of each other. One is called Axiom, where living things are, and the other is Umbral, where the dead are. Even if they are in the same space, you can only reach certain places through the connection between the two worlds.

If you die in Axiom, you go to Umbral, and then have to return to Axiom to get back what you lost. But if you die in the Umbra, you’ll start over from where you last saved, and you’ll lose all unused experience points. There aren’t many places to save your progress in each area, but you can craft your own using special materials found on defeated monsters in Umbral.

Lord of Fallen Conspiracies

The game takes place in a world where the cruel god Adil once ruled humanity. Three heroes known as the Judges defeated Adil and became demigods. In this world, even minor mistakes are punished. Players take on the role of Harkyn, a criminal who has his sins expressed in runes on his face.

Harjin is freed by a monk named Kasro, who must thwart an invasion by the Rogar, a demonic force of Adil, near the Hand of God Mountains. These invaders, Lord Rogar, come from an unknown place. With the help of the explorer Yetka, Haken found the gateway to the Kingdom of Jogar, which was sealed in a monastery.

While venturing into the kingdom of Rogar, Hajin encounters the Artisan, an immortal being whose stolen travel crystal led to the invasion. Harken retracted the crystal, stopping the attack. Back at the monastery, Antanas, the leader of the human army, urges Hajin to kill the resurrected Adil. Suspicious of Antanas, Hajin fights an unknown monster and discovers disturbing signs.

In the Room of Lies in the Rogar Kingdom, Hajin encountered a special demon related to the Yetka family. He chooses to fight or let go with Yetka. Later, facing the final lord, Hajin talks to Adil. Adil emphasizes the need for gods to maintain order, revealing Antanas’s dramatic transformation due to his human flaws. Adil granted Hajin a special rune to restore his power.
