In the game, you will join a group of space explorers and travel to different parts of the galaxy in search of mysterious artifacts. Starfield is set in space and is Bethesda’s first new intellectual property in 25 years. Director Todd Howard described it as “Skyrim in space”. The game uses the Creation Engine, which has been modified to handle procedural generation. Development began in 2015 after the release of Fallout 4.
Starfield was announced in 2018 and was delayed several times before its release for Windows and Xbox Series X/S on September 6, 2023. It received generally positive reviews for its open world, settings, and soundtrack, but received mixed reviews for its story and exploration.

Graphics
- Added support for AMD FidelityFXTM Super Resolution 3 (FSR 3). (PC)
- Added support for Intel Xe Super Sampling (XeSS). (PC)
- Fixed an issue that could cause clouds to vibrate when using DLSS Performance Mode. (PC)
- Fixed minor visual artifacts that could occur when aiming a weapon or switching missions.
Stablize
- Changed the way FormID is released when loading a save. This should improve stability for saves that have visited many locations.
- Fixed a crash that could occur when making changes to a ship in the Ship Builder menu that required moving all items to the cargo hold.
Various
- Reverted the change to open the data menu when taking a screenshot with F12 (PC version)
- Fixed an issue where the resolution scale would reset to 1.0 when switching from fullscreen to windowed mode while using DLSS. (PC)
This update is the ninth since the start of Starfield’s Early Access period in September 2023, and the tenth update in total. It comes a month after the major update 1.9.51, which made more than 120 changes to the game.

Starfield now supports AMD FSR 3 upgrade
This feature is part of the latest update that enhances the game’s visuals and performance on compatible hardware, which also includes various improvements and bug fixes. Players can now enjoy a better gaming experience with enhanced graphics and smoother gameplay.
Bethesda has expanded support for supersampling technology in the latest update for Starfield, introducing compatibility with FSR 3 and XeSS. The update is labeled version 1.9.67 and comes with various enhancements detailed in the patch notes.

The update also introduces support for Intel Xe Super Sampling (XeSS), an upscaling solution compatible with Intel Arc GPUs and some Nvidia and AMD graphics cards. Bethesda has improved the game’s support for Nvidia’s DLSS upscaling technology, resolving issues like cloud vibrations in performance mode.
Additionally, the patch resolves crash issues, including one related to the Shipbuilder feature when deleting a spacecraft module with items. It also fixes a PC-specific bug that caused the game to open the data menu when taking a screenshot using the F12 key.

Starfield Patch 1.9.67 Notes Release Date
After two weeks of testing by Steam users, the stable version of the new Starfield patch was released on February 20. This update, version 1.9.67, includes several fixes and improvements, with a focus on graphical enhancements.
The most significant addition is support for AMD’s FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR) 3, which increases resolution with minimal impact on performance. Gamers using the latest AMD GPUs, such as 2019’s Radeon RX 5700, can expect higher frame rates and resolutions.
Bethesda first revealed Starfield at E3 2018. At E3 2021, they revealed the game’s improved Creation Engine 2 and that it would be released on Windows and Xbox Series X/S on November 11, 2022. However, the game’s release was delayed to the first half of 2023, alongside Redfall.
The game is finally set to be released on September 6, 2023. In June 2023, Bethesda showed 45 minutes of gameplay in a presentation called the Starfield Direct. They also released three animated shorts in July 2023, titled Starfield: The Settled Systems.

Bethesda has released different versions of the game, including the Premium Edition and the Constellation Edition. Players who purchase these versions can enjoy up to five days of early access and free access to the first downloadable content expansion pack, Shattered Space.
Microsoft also released Starfield-themed accessories, including controllers, headsets, and a decal pack for the console. AMD teamed up with Bethesda to give away limited-edition CPUs and graphics cards themed after the game’s Constellation organization.
How to play Starry Sky
Starfield is an action role-playing game where players can switch between first-person and third-person perspectives. The game is set in an open world in the Milky Way, where players can explore over 1,000 planets, moons, and space stations. The game features procedurally generated landscapes with handcrafted content around points of interest. Players can encounter various NPCs, some of which can join their party to assist in combat and other interactions.
Players can customize their characters, choosing their appearance, background, and traits. Traits can be beneficial or detrimental and can be eliminated through quests. Players can scan planets for resources to craft and build outposts, which serve as both homes and research facilities where players can develop new items and upgrades.
Players can also acquire, customize, and commandeer spaceships through modular customization options. Ships feature a power allocation system, allowing players to prioritize systems during combat. Players can board and interact with other ships, either hostile or peaceful, providing a variety of gameplay options.
