Children of the Forest gameplay

Children of the Forest inherits the successful formula of The Forest, immersing players in the challenges of the protagonist, who is trapped on an island inhabited by cannibals. Survival becomes the primary goal of players as they navigate the treacherous terrain, using their skills to craft weapons and buildings to help them cope with the countless challenges presented by the harsh environment. Children of the Forest introduces innovative mechanics to the gameplay, such as 3D printing and the inclusion of friendly non-player characters (NPCs).

These NPCs include Kelvin, a deaf-mute companion who requires players to communicate via written commands on paper to complete tasks such as resource gathering and making fire. Another notable character is Virginia, a three-legged, three-armed woman who can equip weapons to enhance combat capabilities. The game’s expanded map is four times larger than the previous game, providing players with a vast and diverse landscape to explore and survive.

In addition to the single-player experience, Children of the Forest offers a cooperative multiplayer mode for up to 8 players. This cooperative play adds a social dimension to the survival story, allowing players to strategize, build, and tackle challenges together. Branching stories are influenced by player behavior, leading to different endings based on the choices players make throughout the game, further enhancing the replayability and dynamics of Children of the Forest’s immersive survival gameplay.

Children of the Jungle

Children of the Jungle is set several years after The Jungle, where a team of private military contractors are hired by PuffCorp on a mission to uncover the mysterious disappearance of PuffCorp CEO Edward Puffton, his wife Barbara, and their daughter Virginia. The team’s helicopter is accidentally shot down upon arriving at “Site 2.”

“The surviving contractors, along with another survivor, Kelvin, set out to survive on this dangerous island, facing not only the threat of mutant cannibals, but also the hidden secrets hidden in the PuffCorp facility. As the contractors explore the island, they discover underground bunkers and facilities that reveal PuffCorp’s true intentions for Site 2, including ancient artifacts, gold ore, and a hidden competition with Sahara Therapeutics for control of the mysterious “Cube.”

The storyline takes an unexpected turn when the contractor encounters mutated versions of the Puffton family and other survivors such as Tim and Eric LeBlanc from the forest, all of whom are employed by PuffCorp. The storyline reveals the disturbing cannibalistic transformation of a PuffCorp executive, shedding light on the island’s dark past.

The contractor’s journey leads them to the Cube, an artifact capable of traveling through alternate dimensions. As they approach the Cube, they encounter a new, extremely aggressive mutant who expresses his dislike for the cross and the golden metal of the island. When they reach the Cube with Tim, a surreal scene unfolds, hinting at a futuristic alien city, marking a fascinating turn in the unfolding story of The Jungle Children.
