In Children of the Forest, players can find six artifact fragments in the island’s treacherous caves. A seventh is available after completing the game. These artifacts are essential to post-game activities and require careful exploration to find.
- Artifact 1: Located in the Coastal Cave (Cave A), along with the Breathing Apparatus and the Stun Gun. This is one of the first caves the player will explore.
- Artifact 2: Located in Cave B, where a rope gun was also found.
- Artifacts 3 and 4: Both are found in Cave D, a large cave system that contains Ancient Armor and Rifles. One artifact is in the Golden Tunnel, and the other is near the Ancient Armor.
- Artifact 5: Located in Cave F, accessible via an entrance blocked with wooden planks and a descending rope.
- Artifact 6: Located in Cave G near the coastline on the east side of the map, players can also obtain the Grinding Trap blueprint here.
- Artifact 7: Obtained by choosing to stay on the island at the end of the game. After seeing four blue lasers in the sky, descend into the cave below to find the final artifact.
After collecting all seven artifact fragments, players can merge them into their inventory. This fused artifact has a variety of abilities, including upgrading buildings to gold, teleporting, and inflicting fear on mutants.
