Sonic Superstars Gold Enemies Location, Where to Find Gold Enemies in Sonic Superstars?

Sonic Superstars Gold Enemies Location

Sonic Superstars features special gold-colored enemies that drop valuable medallions when defeated. To make the most of this in-game currency, you’ll want to hunt down all the Golden Enemies in each level. They can be a bit tricky to locate, but we’ve got you covered with the locations of these special foes. Keep in mind that if you die during a level, you’ll lose the medallions and any Golden Enemies you’ve defeated, so it’s essential to clear the level without any deaths after finding them.

World 1 – Bridge Island, Act 1

  • Location: After the giant robotic fish in the background, you’ll find a golden crab enemy in the middle section, just past the ramp, on the left side of one of the giant rings.

World 1 – Bridge Island, Act 2

  • Location: This Golden Enemy is on a high platform towards the end of the level. To reach it, you’ll need to use Tails or a Chaos Emerald power that allows you to jump up there.

World 2 – Speed Jungle, Act 1

  • Location: Find the golden frog at the very top, slightly to the right of the extra ring balloons. It’s located immediately above a checkpoint after the first vine-riding section.

World 2 – Speed Jungle, Act Sonic

  • Location: In the Sonic-exclusive act of Speed Jungle, this Golden Enemy can be found after Sonic is shot around two square “loops.” Jump onto the vine with a yellow bounce button on the right and bounce up and to the left. When you reach the rotating platforms, ride them as far up and to the left as possible to find this golden bug.

World 2 – Speed Jungle, Act 2

  • Location: During the second darkness phase of Speed Jungle, Act 2, you’ll encounter a golden moth at the top left. Beware of spikes on the ceiling and floor while trying to reach this Golden Enemy.

World 3 – Sky Temple, Act 1

  • Location: After the section with the massive fans launching you into the air, jump up on the platform to the left. There, you’ll find a loop-de-loop; pass through it, and then keep moving to the left until you hit a block. Above this block is a platform with balloons leading up to it where the golden bug resides.

World 4 – Pinball Carnival, Act 1

  • Location: This Golden Enemy spawns near the starting point of World 4 Act 1. Simply head up and right past the pinball platforms to find it.

World 4 – Pinball Carnival, Act 2

  • Location: High above the second set of trains, there’s a platform with a small plush Tails floating around, which counts as this level’s Golden Enemy. To reach it, use a train with a glowing spider web platform.

World 5 – Lagoon City, Act 1

  • Location: After taking the first loopy slide, head up onto the platform to take the second slide. Continue moving up and right to the third loop. Once you reach the balancing platforms with balloons above them, go right until you find a waterfall. To reach the golden seal enemy, use Tails’ fly power or the water-climbing Chaos Emerald power to get to the top of the waterfall.

World 5 – Lagoon City, Act Amy

  • Location: Navigating to the Golden Enemy in Amy’s level can be challenging. Follow these directions to reach it:
    1. Take the first slide, then the second slide.
    2. Wait until the bridge is lit up after the giant pineapple, as walking across it prematurely will lead to a water fall.
    3. Hit the checkpoint and climb the platforms past the exploding grapes.
    4. Hop to a floating platform above the grapes.
    5. Cross all four floating platforms across the gap and take the swinging platforms up.
    6. Ride the squirting hoses up to reach a C-shaped loop thing. Zoom up and around it.
    7. At the top, you’ll find two light-up platforms. Jump up on those and walk to the right.
    8. Knock the fruit out of the way and walk all the way right.
    9. Drop down, and there will be a strawberry cart to the left. Hop over it and walk left.
    10. Fall down to the bottom, then head right.
    11. After jumping over some spikes, there will be an opening above you; use the red Emerald or the plant-growing Emerald to get onto the platforms above, where the Golden Enemy spawns.

World 5 – Lagoon City, Act 2

  • Location: This golden crab can be found high above most of the level, between the first and second checkpoints.

World 6 – Sand Sanctuary, Act 1

  • Location: Above the third snake. To reach it, jump off the third snake piece, take two sandfalls up, and ride the snake backward, jumping until you reach the leftmost platform. Ride the sandfall up, then take the floating platforms up and left. Once you reach the checkpoint, head right to find this Golden Enemy.

World 7 – Press Factory, Act 1

  • Location: You’ll need to stick to the bottom path of the Factory, which can be challenging due to the building’s upward force. Tails can make this easier as he’s unaffected by the slamming floors while flying. After the first checkpoint, take the lowest path until it leads to a dead end. Fly up onto the platform, over the spikes, and continue along this path past the medallion. The golden bug will be past the trap and the two spinning spikes on the giant green screws.

World 7 – Press Factory, Act 2

  • Location: After riding and then crashing the first rocket, head right along the arrowed path. Keep heading right; if you find the launching, fiery platforms, you are too high, and if you take the upside-down loop-de-loop, you have gone too low. The golden enemy is on the other side of some floating elephant vacuums.

World 8 – Golden Capital, Act 1

  • Location: This golden bug is found after the first section that pushes you back into the plane behind the 2D plane normally played on. It will take you to a pinball section; don’t take the plane changer on the bottom, climb up the pinball and take the one higher up instead. Head along this path until you find a bunch of seahorses; use their bubbles to climb up to this golden bug.

World 8 – Golden Capital, Act Knuckles

  • Location: This Golden Enemy is incredibly challenging to get to; I recommend following this video by TurtlePM to get through it. You’ll need to climb walls, float over entire platforms, and take out-of-your-way paths to reach the Golden Enemy, which is located on a tiny platform overlooking some spikes.

World 8 – Golden Capital, Act 2

  • Location: Before taking the second lava-surfing board across the lava lake, make sure to head back to the left and grab this Golden Enemy, which is floating in the middle of a lava pool with a whole bunch of other seahorses.

World 9 – Cyber Station, Act 1

  • Location: After the long row of arrow doors, ride the blue rail to the right. Once you reach the checkpoint after the blue rail fly upwards with Tails or the red Chaos Emerald power, and look for the golden crab up on the next platform.

World 10 – Frozen Base, Act 1

  • Location: After the big ring above the third treadmill section, there will be another platform to the right of the giant ring with some trees and snow on it. The Golden Enemy for this level, a robotic bird, spawns there.

World 10 – Frozen Base, Act Tails

  • Location: In the Tails-only section of the Frozen Base, combine his flying ability with the growing vine Emerald power and the red Emerald power to keep moving up and to the right. Take the first loop up above and to the right of the starting zone, and you will come to a hallway of machines that will slam you into the floor and ceiling. Get through this hallway, then fly upwards and find the treadmills. Ride it all the way to the right, then go through the checkpoint, and ride across the next treadmill. At the end of this treadmill, fly up and the golden enemy will be above you.

World 11 – Egg Fortress, Act 1

  • Location: This level’s Golden Enemy is located after the second all-white section where the level builds itself. It will have two worm-bomb enemies in it, so be wary. Continue right past this, then go through the airlock. After that, immediately fly upwards to find this silly sketch of Sonic on the wall along with a gilded enemy.

World 11 – Egg Fortress, Act 2

  • Location: During the second section of the stage that deconstructs itself, look for this floating golden worm. It is located just after you ride the pipe down following the third laser section.

Where to Find Gold Enemies in Sonic Superstars?

In Sonic Superstars, you might come across special enemies known as Gold Enemies. These foes are quite rare and offer unique rewards when defeated.

Gold Enemies take on various forms, but they’re typically regular enemies with a sparkling gold appearance. In terms of behavior, they act just like their common counterparts. For example, bats will fly around, and crabs will continue their shuffling. The main distinction lies in their golden composition.

It seems like there might be only one of them hidden in each stage, as opposed to multiple. For instance, the first one I encountered was a golden bat in Pinball Carnival Zone Act 1 — they won’t all be as easy to find.

When you successfully defeat a golden enemy, you’ll receive a generous reward of 100 Medals in Sonic Superstars. This is a substantial amount compared to what you typically get from Special Stages, which usually offer three to five Medals each. While defeating gold enemies can significantly boost your Medal count, their rarity means this method isn’t entirely dependable. There are other faster ways to earn Medals, like completing the aforementioned Special Stages. If you’re looking to gather Medals quickly, consider checking out our guide on how to do so.

It seems that gold enemies don’t provide much beyond a large quantity of Medals. However, there’s an achievement tied to them. If you manage to locate and defeat all the gold enemies in every stage, you’ll earn the ‘Gold Enemy Hunter’ achievement. This might hold value for avid trophy collectors.

So, keep an eye out for these rare gold enemies in Sonic Superstars for a chance to amass a significant amount of Medals and earn some achievements along the way.

Sonic Superstars

“Sonic Superstars” is a new game released in 2023 for various platforms like Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, Xbox, and PC. It brings back the classic side-scrolling style of Sonic games from the 1990s. You can play Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, or Amy to beat bad guys like Doctor Eggman. There are special power-ups called Chaos Emeralds you can collect.

The head of Sonic’s team wanted to update the old Sonic style for this game. They worked with a studio called Arzest, led by one of Sonic’s creators. This game is special because it’s the first time this creator worked on a Sonic game since 1998. They wanted to make a game that felt like the old Sonic games but with some new and exciting features. The game was released on October 17, 2023.

Sonic Superstars Gameplay

“Sonic Superstars” is a video game where you play as characters like Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and Amy. You go through different levels to stop Doctor Eggman, who’s up to no good. Each character has special abilities. For example, Sonic can dash after jumping, Tails can fly, Knuckles can glide and climb, and Amy uses a hammer to attack and can jump twice. There’s also a new character named Trip who you can unlock.

You’ll explore 12 zones, each with its own challenges like springs, loops, and rings that act as your health. Some zones have special features, like a jungle with vines to swing on, or a futuristic zone where you turn into a different kind of creature. Each zone has different parts, called acts. At the end of each act, you’ll face a boss you have to beat.

Between levels, you’ll be in a 2D hub world where you can choose where to go next and change your character. The whole game takes about four hours to finish with one character, and around 15 hours to complete with all of them.

There are special stages where you can get powerful abilities and collect Chaos Emeralds. These stages are like mazes or swinging challenges. Collecting all seven emeralds lets your character become super powerful.

You can play with friends, up to four players, which is a new feature in the series. There’s also a player-versus-player mode where you can create robots to compete in different challenges like races and battles. You can play with others online or locally.
