Slave Zero X Review, Slave Zero X Gameplay

Slave Zero X

Slave Zero X is a stylish 2.5D character-based action game set in a biopunk world, released on multiple gaming platforms including PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch and PC in February 2024. It is a prequel to the original Slave Zero game from 1999, offering a new experience in a side-scrolling hack-and-slash style of gameplay, in stark contrast to the original’s third-person shooter mechanics.

In June 2022, Ziggurat Interactive, known for series such as BloodRayne and KKnD, announced Slave Zero X as a prequel to the original game. It features a dystopian future setting and gameplay reminiscent of popular games such as Devil May Cry and Strider. The game’s voice cast includes SungWon Cho and Anjali Kunapaneni.

Additionally, Ziggurat has teamed up with Ironwood Software and Poppy Works to release Slave Zero X: Episode Enyo, a complete conversion mod for the classic first-person shooter Quake. This expansion pack allows players to experience the world of Slave Zero X from a different perspective, with the main villain as a playable character.
