Shin Godzilla ending explained
The ending of “Shin Godzilla” left viewers with a sense of uncertainty. Although Godzilla is temporarily immobilized due to the heroic efforts of the Japanese people, people are still worried that it may awaken again at any time.
As the previous generation of politicians passed away, a new wave of leaders emerged to rule Japan. Although the United States has called off a planned nuclear strike, they are still prepared to take action if Godzilla is resurrected.
This unstable situation has the potential to lead to a variety of catastrophic consequences. The possibility of conflict between Japan and its neighbors looms. Godzilla’s resurrection, or even escalation into global nuclear war, are conceivable risks.
Amid this uncertainty, the only undeniable reality is that Japan must accept the existence of the creature’s lifeless corpse. Removal or defeat seems impossible for the foreseeable future, leaving Japan with no choice but to live with the remnants of the entity that nearly destroyed them.

Shin Godzilla plot
When an abandoned yacht in Tokyo Bay resulted in the destruction of a Japanese Coast Guard vessel and the submergence of the Tokyo Bay Aqua-Line, Deputy Chief Cabinet Secretary Random Yaguchi was convinced that a living creature was to blame.
News reports confirmed the creature’s existence when its tail emerged from the ocean. It continued moving inland, causing widespread death and destruction amid inadequate evacuations. The creature evolved into a bipedal form, but eventually overheated and returned to the sea.
Government officials, focused on military strategy and civilian safety, appointed Yaguchi to lead a task force to study the creature. High radiation readings along its path suggest the creature was stimulated by nuclear fission.
US envoy Kayoco Anne Patterson revealed that disgraced anti-nuclear zoology professor Goro Maki predicted the creature’s emergence based on his research on mutations caused by radioactive contamination.
Maki’s conclusions were refuted by the scientific community in the United States and Japan, and the United States prevented him from making his findings public. The abandoned yacht in Tokyo Bay belongs to Maki, who left his research notes in coded form.

The creature, later named “Godzilla” after Maki’s research, reappeared in a larger, fourth form near Kamakura. Despite the best efforts of the Japanese Self-Defense Forces, Godzilla breaks through the defenses and reaches Tokyo. The United States carried out a devastating air campaign that resulted in the evacuation of civilians and government officials.
Godzilla was injured by the MOP “bunker buster” bomb, but retaliated with a destructive atomic ray, destroying a helicopter carrying the Prime Minister and other senior officials and causing widespread damage in Tokyo. When Godzilla’s energy is depleted, he goes into hibernation and becomes motionless.
Yaguchi’s team discovered that Godzilla’s plates and blood acted as a cooling system, leading them to speculate that the coagulant could freeze the creature. Through analysis of tissue samples, they learned that Godzilla was an evolving creature capable of asexual reproduction.
The United Nations notifies Japan that thermonuclear weapons will be deployed if the country fails to subdue Godzilla within days, leading to the evacuation of several prefectures. Determined to avoid another nuclear disaster, Patterson uses her political connections to buy time for Yaguchi’s team, but the interim government is skeptical.
With the help of international support, Yaguchi’s team used origami to decipher Maki’s coded research and adapted their plans accordingly. They were given the resources they needed to develop a plan for the deep freeze. Just hours before the scheduled nuclear attack, Japan implemented its deep freeze strategy.
Enraged, Godzilla expends his atomic breath and energy on the drone, allowing the team to detonate nearby buildings and direct a train to the creature’s feet. This subdued Godzilla, and a jar filled with coagulant was injected into his mouth. Many people died, but Godzilla was eventually frozen solid.
It was then discovered that Godzilla’s aftermath had a short half-life, and Tokyo could soon begin to rebuild. The international community agrees to cancel the planned nuclear attack on the condition that if Godzilla awakens, a thermonuclear strike will be carried out immediately. Notably, a humanoid that was frozen during its emergence was observed on Godzilla’s tail.
