Sylvia approaches her new role enthusiastically, but she faces the challenge of interacting with strangers. She strives to find the right balance between friendliness and professionalism. Later, during a busy day, she accidentally damaged a portrait of company owner Kirk Friedkin. Although she managed to keep her colleagues from noticing, she realized she needed help repairing the torn portrait. In this situation, Will is the only person she can turn to.
Meanwhile, Will shares his new beer with his business partners Reggie and Andy, and they both love it. However, the beer was expensive to produce and not very profitable, causing a rift between Will and Reggie. Will saw beer as a way to raise the bar’s standards, while Reggie prioritized financial success. Their differences in approach threaten their partnership, but they both genuinely care about the bar’s success.
To resolve the portrait issue, Will contacted his ex-wife Audrey, who served as an art consultant. They tried to rebuild their relationship, but Audrey had moved on and was successful in her own right. With Audrey’s help, Sylvia manages to convince an art restorer named Gregory (who happens to be Audrey’s friend) to restore the damaged portrait.
What Will doesn’t know is that Reggie has organized a party at the bar without his knowledge. Reggie’s stepsister Audrey informed Will of the incident. It’s clear that Reggie kept Will away from the bar on purpose to ensure his own plan went smoothly.
Will and Sylvia arrive at the bar, where they meet Payton, now a waitress. Payton revealed that she had quit her job as a nanny, hinting that Sylvia didn’t fire her. Additionally, Katie, who was dating Andy, did not inform Sylvia about their relationship, which may indicate a change in the dynamic of their friendship due to Sylvia’s new lifestyle.
Both Will and Sylvia are distraught, with Will feeling even more stressed. However, Sylvia takes it upon herself to report a fake gas leak, stopping the party. This gave her a sense of satisfaction that her labor was not exploited by Reggie’s activities.

As for the damaged portrait, Sylvia and Will visit Gregory, but his artistic interpretation makes the situation worse, creating a bizarre image that resembles a proboscis monkey in a suit. Unable to proceed further, Sylvia had to settle for an altered portrait. However, she manages to hide this from Kirk the next day.
Unfortunately, CCTV footage captures Sylvia damaging the portrait and she meets Jessica from HR. Sylvia initially apologized, but Jessica eventually informed her that she was fired. Sylvia struggled to accept the news and left the office in shock.
The episode ends with Sylvia being forced to resign, leaving viewers curious about Charlie’s reaction to her firing and what actions Will might take against Reggie, most likely on a personal level. The next episode, Platonic Episode 8, will provide the answers to these questions.
