The story takes place during the events of Persona 5 and tells the story of the Phantom Thieves of Hearts in a world full of war and oppression. They allied themselves with the rebels and aimed to ignite a revolution against the Legion. Gameplay includes grid-based navigation, a weapon system and turn-based combat, integrating classic character mechanics such as summoning and fusion. Persona 5 Tactica was born out of Atlus’ desire to blend strategy with the Persona 5 universe to create a tactical adventure game with gameplay unique to the series.
Persona 5 Tactics Game
Persona 5 Tactica is a video game in which you control a group of characters on a grid-based map. The protagonists are the Phantom Thieves of Hearts and the resistance leader Erina. During combat, you take turns fighting enemy units.
Characters can hide to reduce or prevent damage, and actions can be taken at any point on the grid. Physical attacks move enemies, while gun attacks attack from a distance. Like Persona 5, characters can summon Personas using skills with skill points. Different skills have elemental effects that affect enemy movement.
If the enemy is not in cover, the attack knocks them down and gives them an extra turn. Form a triangle formation with downed enemies to launch a powerful “triple threat” attack. Collecting additional characters enhances skills, which can be obtained as combat rewards or through fusions, combining strategy and tactics with familiar character mechanics for a unique RPG experience.
