PAYDAY 3 Update 1.1.1 Patch Notes was released on February 29, 2024, bringing various changes and improvements to the game. The latest update version 1.1.1 of PAYDAY 3 introduces several enhancements and fixes to enhance the gaming experience for players.
Update highlights and new features
- In addition to fixing around 300 bugs and implementing improvements, we are also happy to release the first features of our large-scale game improvement project, “Operation Medkit”.

DirectX 12
- DirectX12 is added as a standard graphics API, internal testing shows significant performance improvements when using DX12. DX11 is retained and can be manually selected using the launch option “-dx11”.
Hardcore “Cooking Competition” Challenge Rewards
- There is a new challenge called “Kiss the Cook.” Obtaining 19 bags of perfectly cooked meth in Cook Off on OVERKILL difficulty will reward a unique weapon trinket.
Various UI improvements
- We made several fixes to the UI, such as adding sliders, and added the much-requested lobby not ready feature.
Controller dead zone setting
- Additional controller settings allow for more granular customization of your controller gameplay.
Rotating safety modifiers
- Starting with this patch, we will be rotating safe modifiers across all Very Hard and Overkill difficulty heists to provide a fresh experience. We will be updating the modifier distribution every two weeks. In the future, there will be more stealthy and loud modifiers in the rotation.
Game state consistency
- The game will now remember whether you chose to show or hide the story video in the heist select, even after restarting the game.
- Lobby type and difficulty will now automatically be set to the same as the previous game.
Known Issues
- Skill point allocations have been reset on gear, but you retain your earned skill points, so remember to recreate your build after updating the game.
- [PC] The introduction of DX12 support helped us discover an issue in the previous version of the game that we were unable to reproduce on DX11. This meant that when using the Instant Replay feature of GeForce Experience/Shadowplay, a rare edge case issue could cause the system to lock up if ALT+Tab was pressed during game launch, or when switching the game’s video settings between fullscreen and windowed modes.
- We recommend turning off Instant Replay in Nvidia Settings to prevent this issue from occurring while we work on a fix.
General

- Prevent party spot from being reserved if player aborts or fails to join lobby.
- Fixed an issue where hitting a guard would cause the guard to reset
- Fixed an issue where guards would not react when the player bumped into them while investigating.
- Fixed an issue where keyboard highlights were difficult to read due to lighting conditions
- Fixed a crash that could occur during OVK weapon drop
- Fixed issues with security camera marking targets and sensor tool outlines
- Fixed an issue where certain skills selected in gear were not activating during a heist
- Fixed an issue with controllers becoming unresponsive after switching inputs in menus
- Fixed an issue where the drill animation would continue playing after cancelling an interaction when two players started interacting at the same time
- Adjusted keyboard highlighting to be easier to see
- Fixed a possible crash with crew AI
- Fixed an issue where lobby chat input would not work when entering a pre-planned lobby
- Fixed an issue where the player could throw civilians over cuttable fences when the fence hadn’t been cut yet.
- Fixed an issue where the radio wouldn’t show an outline when it popped onto a dead guard
- Fixed a possible crash with crew AI
- Fixed attack drones not targeting crew AI
- Fixed the issue where the corpse would be released in a T-shape and horizontally when picked up
- Fixed an issue where the outlines of first aid kits and repair kits were not visible at a distance
- Improved Cloaker’s stealth functionality to be more reliable
- Fixed an issue with the heist vote where if the player left during the voting process, their vote would still be counted towards the final result
- Fixed a crash related to gear when setting weapon pattern colors
- Fixed an issue where players were unable to move or shoot after resurrecting for the third time
- Fixed an issue where the ECM Jammer icon would not get stuck permanently on the screen if the player who placed it left
- Fixed an issue where players would sometimes get ready in the lobby but not enter a session
- Fixed an issue where players were able to obtain infinite throwables/placeables and tool ammunition.
- Adjustments have been made to allow drones to now be highlighted via the sensor tool
- Fixed an issue where NPC civilians sometimes did not react to broken windows
- Added outlines for trading and rescuing NPC hostages
- Fixed an issue with the match summary screen appearing after completing the tutorial level
- Fixed an issue where Sentry Guns would not despawn if they accidentally spawned near an area they were not supposed to be in
- Adjusted the reload input so it doesn’t “accidentally” happen when the player is “interacting” with the controller in game
- Fixed an issue where NPC AI could get stuck on vehicles
- Added “Hold and hold to slide” settings option
- Fixed an issue where tools would appear to float when placed on glass or fences and cut
- Added player death animation
- Fixed an issue where the “Starter Kit” challenge would complete without meeting the requirements
- Fixed an issue where players could change weapons while cuffed
- Fixed the negotiation phase only ending if the civilians were actually killed instead of just being traded away
- Adjusted an issue where Cloakers would sometimes fail to complete their Sabotage actions
- Fixed an issue where civilians were not reacting correctly to being found to be doing illegal things
- Fixed an issue where players would sometimes be unable to escape when there was more than 1 player on the server
- Fixed an issue where infamy points were being calculated incorrectly
- Prevents the game from locking up if the restart button is pressed repeatedly on the heist failed screen.
- Fixed an issue with the party being disbanded after a heist was completed.
- Fixed Scrambler Aced Rush buff not being refreshed via Transporter Skill
- The more cunning robbers may notice that there are 2 new masks in the game files, which will be unlocked in future community events. You may see them in our official livestreams before they are publicly released.
