Oscar Feflas Borders Gate 3
Oskar Fevras is a fascinating character in the world of Baldur’s Gate 3. As a skilled painter ensnared by the Zhentarim, players encounter a chance at freedom. This can be achieved by purchasing him from the Zhentarim for 600 gold, or possibly at a higher cost of 1000 gold if the Persuasion check fails. Once obtained, Oscar becomes a member of the player’s party.
Despite Oscar’s artistic talents, he had a mischievous and rebellious streak. His history is littered with run-ins with the law, and he’s not afraid to express his views publicly. Additionally, Oscar’s romantic tendencies involve him in a love triangle, adding an extra layer of complexity to his character.
Oscar proved to be an invaluable addition to the roster. His artistic skills are a great addition to the team, and his knowledge of the world of Baldur’s Gate is a valuable asset. His loyalty and unwavering companionship are qualities players can rely on throughout their journey.

Interestingly, the promise of Oscar rewards is not as simple as it seems. He requires additional funds to travel to Baldur’s Gate, which could put players in a difficult situation. Those who choose not to pay the fee will free Oscar, but abandon his mission in Baldur’s Gate. On the other hand, the player can choose to secure his freedom and passage through a combination of treasures and funds.
The decision to purchase an Oscar is a critical one that players need to think carefully about. While his contribution to the party is undeniable, his tendency to stir up trouble also deserves consideration. Ultimately, the player must weigh the benefits of his help against the potential challenges to his character before making a choice.

Should you help Oscar Fiveras?
In the realm of Baldur’s Gate 3, Oskar Fevras becomes a famous painter and becomes embroiled in a fascinating quest. The story unfolds as he becomes a victim of the Zhentarim criminal organization, prompting the player to decide whether to buy his freedom or free him. Choosing to help Oscar unveils a storyline centered on his tangled romantic adventures with two women.
However, lending a helping hand comes at a high cost, and Oscar’s credibility and gratitude remain in question. Choosing to assist Oscar Fevers depends on personal values and ethics. Some players may support rescuing him in the name of justice and curiosity, while others may be inclined to leave him for practical and financial reasons.
For those looking for a steadfast and useful companion, Oscar offers a viable option. With his artistic talent and insight into the Baldur’s Gate universe, he provides valuable knowledge. Furthermore, his loyalty is unwavering, ensuring that he is steadfastly by your side. However, Oscar’s tendency to cause trouble cannot be ignored. With a history of run-ins with the law and a candid demeanor, awkward situations may arise, especially when trying to escape conflict.
How to find Oscar in Baldur’s Gate 3?
Oskar is located in the Lower Town area in a quaint residence known as Lady Jannath’s Estate. If you remember the previous conversation with him in Act 1, Ms. Jenners is Oscar’s new wife and their relationship is in quite a bit of trouble. The precise location of Ms. Janus’s estate can be learned from the attached screenshot.
Upon arrival at the manor, after a brief exchange with Janus’s vigilant bodyguard, you can enter through the main entrance. However, traversing the interior of the residence proved to be a challenging undertaking. Ghostly ghosts attack you, dealing heavy damage with poltergeist and levitating skull attacks.
In dealing with this dangerous challenge, my team and I chose to keep going, pushing through the hardships and pausing briefly to catch our breath when our well-being declined. This concerted effort ultimately leads you into the inner sanctum—the chamber of Lady Janus herself.
In this room, a poignant scene unfolds, with Oscar towering over Janus and hurling insulting diatribes at her. However, there’s an undeniable change in Oscar’s demeanor that hints at an unease that exists outside of his usual self.
How to save Oscar in Baldur’s Gate 3?
As engaging cutscenes unfold, making the interaction between Oscar and Janus more clear, your key role emerges – protecting Oscar by rendering him unconscious using non-lethal attacks. Alternatively, the option to end his life is imminent, hastening the end of the “Free the Artist” mission and causing Ms. Janus to resent your actions.
If your goal is to save Oscar from the clutches of his altered state, then doing so will require delving into your companion’s mysterious powers. Delve into each party member’s spellbook, specifically under the “General” tab, to uncover the elusive skill called “Non-Lethal Strike.” When Oscar’s life force is on the verge of collapse, this is the catalyst needed to subdue him.
From my own experience, the ones who have this skill are Gael and Astarion. Gradually reduce Oscar’s health to about five units, activating non-lethal strikes from your hotbar to incapacitate him without stepping into the realm of death.
Following this transformative move, a new film featuring Ms. Janus begins. During her conversation, she asks you to venture to Oscar’s office on the upper floor of the manor to uncover more mysteries and unravel the complications surrounding his actions. Ascending this upper sanctum will be no easy task, however, as the relentless attacks of ghostly entities remain. My suggestion is to assign a separate role to climbing.
When you finally reach the top level, you’re greeted by a series of paintings and a double easel. Remarkably, an easel remains plain and invites you to participate. The first priority was to retrieve Oscar’s portrait from the ground and place it on an empty easel.
In an almost mystical symphony, this simple gesture reveals hidden passages within the room, unveiling another painting – this one depicting a woman named Carey. It is worth noting, however, that contact with the painting remains beyond your reach for now.
