NHL 24 Goalie Settings
In NHL 24, goalie controls allow you to control your goalie’s movements. Here’s a basic goalie setup explained in a nutshell:
- Move the goalie: You use the left stick to move the goalie around the net.
- Challenge: Press the left stick or LB (L1 on PlayStation) to make the goalkeeper come out of the net to challenge the opponent.
- Butterfly: Hold RT (R2 on PlayStation) to put the goalkeeper into a butterfly position, used to block low shots.
- Hug the goalposts: You can make the goalkeeper hug the goalposts by moving the left stick in that direction.
- Instinct: Pressing LT (L2 on PlayStation) activates the goalkeeper’s instincts for quick reactions.
- Dive Save: To perform a dive save, press X (square on PlayStation) and move the left stick in the direction you want to dive.
- Dive Poke Check: To perform a dive poke check, press X (Square on PlayStation) and push the left stick up.
- V-Spread: Moving the right stick away from the puck helps the goaltender spread his legs to block shots.
- Stack Pads: Press B (Circle on PlayStation) and move the left stick left or right to stack the goalkeeper’s leg pads.
- Butterfly Slide: Use the right stick to slide the goalkeeper laterally to cover more of the net.
- Poke Check: Move the right stick up or press the right stick (R3) to perform a poke check.
- Cover the puck: When the puck is close to the goalie, hold Y (Triangle on PlayStation) to cover the puck.
- Free Slide: Pressing A (X on PlayStation) allows the goalkeeper to free slide outside the crease.
- Dump the puck: To get rid of the puck, move the right stick up.
- Pass the ball: Press RT (R2 on PlayStation) to pass the ball.
- Leave the puck to a teammate: Press LT (L2 on PlayStation) to leave the puck to one of your teammates.
These controls help you control your goalkeeper’s movement and actions in the game to make saves and protect your net.
