Experimental items from the last era
In Last Era, Experimental Items are special pieces of gear with unique modifiers called Experimental Affixes. These affixes are powerful bonuses not found on regular items, and can significantly enhance different character builds.

To obtain Experimental Items, players will need to defeat a powerful boss enemy in Rune Prison called the Exiled Mage. While Experimental Items may initially look like standard equipment, a closer look will reveal that they contain these special affixes.
These affixes can provide benefits such as mitigating damage from damage over time effects, gaining kill wards, increased haste, etc. Additionally, defeating an Exiled Mage above level 70 may drop a Research Rune, which allows the player to seal experimental affixes onto experimental items.
This process follows the rules of Sealed Affixes, which means that each item can only have one Sealed Affix. Additionally, players can use the Glyph of Insight on a Sealed Affix to upgrade it to an Experimental Affix, which provides deterministic crafting results based on the item. How to use the doomsday experiment?
Using experimental items in Last Epoch is very simple and consists of two main steps. First, players need to obtain experimental items by defeating Exiled Mages (mini-bosses in Rune Prisons scattered around the game world).
These rune cages can be encountered randomly during the campaign or during the Stone of Destiny encounter. After defeating the Exiled Mage, the player will be rewarded with at least one experimental item. It should be noted that the experimental affixes only apply to gloves, boots, and belts.
Once a player has acquired an experimental item, they can use its unique affixes to enhance the equipment. To do this, players can embed the Research Rune onto the item containing the experimental affix they wish to retain.
This process will permanently lock the experimental affix to the item, freeing up an affix slot for other modifiers. Additionally, defeating an Exiled Mage at level 70 or higher may also grant a Research Rune, which can be used to seal the experimental affix.

Utilizing the correct crafting techniques, including using the Glyph of Insight dropped by the Exiled Mages, players can create powerful Exalted and Legendary gear through the strategic application of Experimental Affixes.
