Kings of Leon
Kings of Leon is an American rock band formed in Nashville, Tennessee in 1999 by brothers Caleb, Nathan and Jared Followill and their cousin Matthew Followill. Their music initially blended Southern rock, garage rock and blues, and later moved into alternative rock.
The band achieved early success in the UK, scoring nine Top 40 singles and two Brit Awards in 2008, and their third album, Because of the Times, topped the UK Albums Chart. Only by the Night (2008) marked their breakthrough in the US, with chart-topping singles such as “Sex on Fire” and “Use Somebody”.
With multiple platinum-selling albums and Grammy Awards, including 2010’s Record of the Year for “Use Somebody,” Kings of Leon’s diverse sound and consistent chart success have solidified their prominent place in the rock music scene.
