Is Vincent Valentine Playable? Final Fantasy VII Rebirth

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is an upcoming game developed and published by Square Enix, and is the sequel to Final Fantasy VII Remake, which was released in 2020. It is the second installment in a planned trilogy, reimagining the classic 1997 PlayStation game. Like its predecessor, the gameplay blends real-time action with strategy and role-playing elements.

Set after the events of the remake, players follow mercenary Claude Strife and eco-terrorist group AVALANCHE on their journey across the planet. Their goal is to stop super-corporation Shinra from using Lifestream, the source of life, as an energy source. Along the way, they meet Sephiroth, a former elite soldier who is hell-bent on merging with the planet to gain ultimate power.

Development on Rebirth began in November 2019, ahead of the release of the remake, and was officially announced in June 2022. Key staff from the previous game will return, with Tetsuya Nomura as creative director and Naoki Hamaguchi as director. The game will be released exclusively on PlayStation 5 on February 29, 2024.

Is Vincent Valentine playable?

The developers confirmed prior to the game’s release that Vincent Valentine would not be playable in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. Similar to Red XIII in the remake, Vincent would join the party but not be directly controllable. While this was a disappointment for fans who were hoping to play as him, his inclusion added depth to the storyline.

Vincent was a selectable character in the original Final Fantasy 7 and is expected to bring interesting interactions to the game world. Players may have to wait for a future sequel to find out if he is playable. Despite Vincent’s absence, Rebirth offers a large party size, including characters from the remake and new additions such as Red XIII, Yuffie, and Cait Sith.

This variety allows players to explore different play styles. In addition, the game contains a large amount of side content and mini-games to keep players engaged. Although not directly playable, Vincent still contributes to the game’s atmosphere with his mysterious presence and powerful abilities. Fans can expect to see him interact with the rest of the cast and use his gun filled with magic stones in battle.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth gameplay

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is the second in a planned trilogy that reimagines the iconic 1997 PlayStation game. It follows the events of Final Fantasy VII Remake (2020) and tells the story of the team’s escape from the metropolis of Midgar. Players focus on the story of Cloud Strife, a former Shinra soldier who becomes a member of the eco-terrorist organization AVALANCHE.

Their mission is to stop Shinra’s pillaging of the planet’s life force energy and confront the reappearance of the legendary warrior Sephiroth.Similar to Remake, Rebirth reinterprets elements from the original game while delving deeper into character development and story expansion.

The game features real-time exploration and combat, with a more open world than the linear progression of Midgar in the remake. Objective markers guide the player through the main story quests and side quests, and the player can choose to traverse on foot or ride a chocobo for faster travel.

Combat combines action-centric melee combat with an Active Time Battle (ATB) system, giving players free control of a group of characters during gameplay. Characters strategically use physical attacks, magic, and items. The “synergy” mechanic introduced in the Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade DLC returns, allowing team members to synchronize their attacks for greater attack efficiency, at the expense of a slower ATB bar refill.
