The album, recorded between May and August 2022, does not feature a rapper on the title track, unlike Lopez’s previous work. However, bonus tracks on the deluxe edition include collaborations with Latto and Anuel AA. Notable contributors include Chaka Khan and Raye.
Lopez wrote all of the songs and even raps on several of them. The album is part of a larger project that includes a narrative film titled This Is Me…Now: A Love Story and a behind-the-scenes documentary titled The Greatest Love Story Never Told.
The lead single, “Can’t Get Enough,” was released in January 2024, generating buzz and sparking live performances. Despite mixed reviews, the album showcased Lopez’s growth and marked her return to a solo album after a decade. The album is accompanied by a variety of covers and will be supported by her first tour in five years, titled “This Is Me…Now: The Tour.”

This Is Me…Now is it based on a true story?
This Is Me…Now is not entirely based on a true story, but rather draws inspiration from Jennifer Lopez’s life experiences. While narrative elements may reflect Lopez’s real-life relationships and emotions, the film uses artistic techniques to create a compelling story.
Lopez rides a motorcycle with a body resembling Ben Affleck, and the crash and the themes of heartbreak and self-discovery are all fictional interpretations. The story unfolds in a way that blurs the line between reality and fiction, allowing Lopez to explore themes of love and personal growth in creative ways.
While this story may resonate with Lopez’s own life experiences, it is not a documentary about her life or her relationship with Affleck. Instead, it serves as a platform for artistic expression and storytelling. This Is Me…Now falls into the category of autobiographical fiction, which allows artists like Lopez to draw from their own experiences to weave imaginative stories.
It offers a unique perspective, allowing audiences to engage with themes of love, loss, and self-discovery while understanding that the story is a fictional representation and not a verbatim retelling of real events.
