Gameplay is similar to the 2018 game, with a focus on combat, puzzle-solving, and role-playing. Kratos has new weapons like a magical spear, while his shield is more versatile. Atreus helps in combat and can even perform tasks with you controlling him. The game has been delayed somewhat due to the actor playing Kratos falling ill and COVID-19 impacting development. It received critical acclaim for its story, characters, visuals, and gameplay improvements. It sold many copies in its first week and won several awards. In addition, there is a DLC called “Valhalla” that will be launched soon, continuing the story after “Twilight of the Gods”.

Is there Helios in God of War Ragnarok?
Yes, Helios appears in the God of War Valhalla DLC, but this is more like how Kratos imagined him. There’s a part where Kratos talks to the Sun God, but that’s not actually real. If you want to know more about the story, this might spoil things.
In God of War 3, Kratos took Helios’ head to use its light. In the Labyrinth of Valhalla, Mimir’s head temporarily transformed into Helios. You heard Helios’ voice before, but this part totally brings back the sun god’s head.

Later in the God of War Ragnarok DLC, Kratos discovered that it was actually just Mimir’s head, and that he was lying to himself. He almost set Mimir on fire, thinking Helios was scolding him for his sacrifice. Even in death, Helios still caused trouble for Kratos and left him with guilt.
Helios isn’t the only one reminiscent of Kratos’ Greek past. A lot of the DLC recreates key moments from the earlier games, and there are some old weapons like the Blades of Chaos. To truly understand it all, you have to explore it for yourself.
