“John Nash came to Princeton as a Carnegie Scholar in Mathematics in 1947 with his colleague Martin Hansen. While at Princeton, he and fellow graduate student Sol , Ainsley struck up a friendship with Bender and his roommate, Charles Herman, a literature student.
Determined to make a groundbreaking discovery, Nash was inspired by conversations with classmates about approaching women in bars. Nash published an article about his theory and was offered a position at MIT, inviting Saul and Bender to join him, ignoring Hansen.

In 1953, Nash was recruited by mysterious Department of Defense agent William Parcher to decipher the Pentagon’s encrypted enemy communications. As Nash becomes increasingly obsessed with this secret mission, he begins to suspect that he is being followed.
During this time, he met MIT student Alicia Ladd, and they fell in love. They married, and Nash’s life became complicated when Patcher’s assignment interfered with Nash’s personal life. He began to experience delusions and paranoia, which eventually led to his diagnosis of schizophrenia.
Psychiatrist Dr. Rosen informed Alicia of Nash’s condition and claimed that Patcher and the others were figments of his imagination. Nash was treated in a mental hospital, but decided to stop taking his medication in hopes of regaining control of his life.
Over the years, Nash learned to cope with his hallucinations and resumed his academic pursuits at Princeton. In 1994, he was awarded the Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences for his pioneering work in game theory.
During the Nobel ceremony, Nash dedicated his achievement to his devoted wife, Alicia, who had been by his side through the challenges of his mental illness. As Nash and his family left the event, he saw visions of the past but chose to focus on the present reality, accepting the support of his loved ones. “
