The game was announced in April 2015 and was the first Call of Duty released since they stopped working with Microsoft Studios and started working with Sony Computer Entertainment. This makes Sony the exclusive partner for downloadable content. The game received critical acclaim for its gameplay, zombies mode, and amount of content. But some people didn’t like the story, thinking it wasn’t too different from previous games. Versions for older consoles have been criticized for lacking campaigns and features, and they require online play. Despite these criticisms, the game sold extremely well, becoming the best-selling game in the United States in 2015, especially for newer consoles.

COD Black Ops 3 Gameplay
“Call of Duty: Black Ops III” is a first-person shooter launched by Treyarch and Activision in 2015, offering a series of exciting game modes. In the campaign, you can team up with three other players for cooperative play, with larger, more open levels and less of a tight corridor shooting experience. As the campaign progresses, you can also customize your character’s appearance and equipment. Additionally, the challenging “Realistic” difficulty mode increases the intensity and a single bullet can defeat you.
Completing the campaign unlocks “Nightmare” mode, which lets you replay the story with zombies replacing regular enemies. In multiplayer, a new movement system with thruster packs enables players to perform dynamic actions such as wall running and sliding for enhanced gun control. The introduction of “Experts” lets you choose from 9 different soldiers, each with unique abilities. The Gunsmith feature allows customization of weapon attachments, while the Paint Shop lets you create custom gun designs. In Zombies mode, players explore different locations and time periods, progressing through an XP system similar to multiplayer games and campaigns.
Unlockable items include “Gobblegums” for temporary rewards and weapon kits for customizing your guns. DLC maps in Zombies mode provide engaging stories tied to the main game narrative. A later supplement, Zombie Chronicles, remastered the classic map with updated graphics and added new elements such as Gobblegums and weapons. This makes Call of Duty: Black Ops III a multi-faceted game with a variety of gameplay options that can be enjoyed with friends or alone.
COD black ops 3 plot
The story of “Call of Duty: Black Ops III” takes place in 2065, 40 years after the events of “Black Ops II”. The world is in a lot of trouble because there are massive battles, the climate is changing, and there are new technologies causing chaos. The “Third Cold War” is taking place between two large blocs: the Winslow Agreement and the Mutual Defense Treaty. After a man named Raul Menéndez sparked the drone issue in 2025, many countries created systems to defend against these drones, rendering regular air forces of little use.
Now, most of the fighting between nations is done by secret agents behind enemy lines. The military has become very advanced and robots are used heavily in battles. Some robots look like humans, and some soldiers are half man, half machine, called cyborgs. This has some people worried that robots may take over.
The game’s story follows a group of secret soldiers working for the Winslow Accords. You play as a member of a team that includes characters such as Jacob Hendricks, Commander John Taylor, Sebastian Diaz, Sarah Hall, and Peter Maretti. Also featured in the story are CIA agent Rachel Caine, Allied CEO Sebastian Krueger, therapist Dr. Yusef Salim and the leader of the 54 Immortals criminal organization Soo-Lan Ng. . NFL running back Marshawn Lynch even made a cameo appearance in 54 Immortals.
