Shrouded Queen’s Tomb

The Shrouded Queen’s Tomb is a special side quest that rewards you with a valuable shield bearing the Spear Mead design. To obtain this unique loot, players will need to solve a puzzle involving four hidden levers. Despite its name, the Queen’s Tomb is marked on maps as the Misterbury Catacombs. It is located northeast of Springlands and southwest of the Revelwood fast travel point.

If the players have discovered Scavenger Mountain, finding the tomb is easy as it is just north of the mountain. The tomb itself is hidden deep in a cave, with the entrance on the east side blocked by a locked wooden door. Players can choose to break the door or use a lockpick to gain entry.

To complete the Queen’s Tomb without activating the lever, players must make their way through the tomb to the main entrance, which is a locked iron door at the far end of the corridor. All enemies within the tomb must be eliminated before continuing, including archers and floating creatures. To effectively break down iron doors, players should have around 8 to 10 explosive powder bombs. If the door is still intact, players can resort to melee damage, although this method takes longer.

While melee damage can be used from the start, it is less efficient. Each explosive powder bomb causes 50 damage to the gate, for a total of 400 damage from the eight bombs. Trying to do this amount of damage with a mid-level melee weapon (which usually does up to 10 damage per swing) is less effective, but still doable.

How to solve the Queen’s Tomb puzzle in The Mist?

Solving the Queen’s Tomb puzzle in Enshrouded requires finding and activating four levers hidden within the tomb. First, make sure you have a bow with arrows or a wand with an ice or fire bolt, and at least a lockpick is recommended. First enter the tomb and turn right.

Branch off the first corridor and go upstairs, defeat the enemies, and stand on the edge of the wooden floor. Look for the grapple lock on the ceiling, swing across it, and take the stairs on the right. At the top you’ll find the first lever; shoot it with an arrow or bolt to activate it.

For the second lever, return to the main corridor and take the rightmost branch down the stairs. Use a wand or bow to deal with floating enemies. After defeating it, go downstairs, turn right, and jump over a river of lava to reach a dead end. On the left wall you’ll see a second lever; shoot it to disable the lock.

To find the third lever, return to the stairs you came down from earlier. Opening a wooden door in front of the stairs reveals a pile of shroud terrain. Dig it up to find a path, go in and turn right at the end. Use the ladder network on the wall to reach the other side, where you’ll find another pile of Shroud terrain. Shoot the explosive barrel ahead to reveal the entrance to the Shroud area. Go inside and take the stairs up to find the third lever on the wall.

Return to the main corridor and take the leftmost branch upstairs to reach an iron door. Use the lockpick to open it, go left, climb the ladder, and use the grapple to swing to the other side. Once you land, you’ll find the fourth and final lever on the wall. Activating this lever opens the gate, allowing you to claim Pykemead’s Bulwark from the tomb.

Hidden gameplay

Enshrouded offers an engaging gameplay experience as a survival action role-playing video game played from a third-person perspective. The game is set in the vast and open world of Embervale, which can be explored by up to 16 players, offering a combination of base building, resource gathering and crafting.

In the overworld, players build their base, gather necessary resources, and create new gear and equipment. A unique feature is the ability to summon non-playable characters to the base, providing players with crafting recipes and quests. Venture into the area hidden by the mysterious fog known as the Shroud, where dangers and rewards exist.

As hostile monsters inhabit these areas, players can discover valuable loot and regularly regenerating treasure chests, adding a thrilling element to exploration. Survival in Enshrouded involves managing hunger and thirst, which affects the player character’s effectiveness in combat. Drinking water can increase endurance, and eating food can improve physical fitness.

Combat is varied, with a variety of weapons, dodges, and parries to defeat your enemies. As players progress, unlock talents that allow them to specialize in one of three classes: Trickster, Battle Mage, or Survivor. Additional traversal tools such as gliders and grappling hooks become available to aid exploration.

Enshrouded is created by Keen Games, the German studio best known for Portal Knights. The developers drew inspiration from beloved games like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Hall of Valhalla to create an engaging experience in the survival game genre.

While influenced by the combat of the challenging Soulsborne games, Enshrouded’s design isn’t that intimidating, making it popular with newcomers to survival games. Keen Games announced the development of “Enshrouded” in May 2023, arousing the expectations of game enthusiasts.

In order to allow players to experience future developments, an 8-hour demo version was released during the Steam Next Fest in November 2023. The game officially launches through Steam’s Early Access mode on January 24, 2024, allowing players to immerse themselves in the ever-evolving world of Amberville. Excitingly, versions for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and Series S are also in development, extending the accessibility of “Enshrouded” to a wider audience.
