Its main purpose is to recognize and celebrate outstanding achievements in the Nigerian music industry. The event is held annually and showcases performances by established and emerging artists. The ceremony was broadcast live on HipTV, reaching viewers across Nigeria.

Headies Jury Says:

In addition to public voting, Headies employs a distinguished panel of experts called the Headies Jury. The panel is comprised of experienced individuals with in-depth knowledge and understanding of the Nigerian music industry. Jury members carefully analyze and evaluate nominees based on a variety of criteria including artistic talent, impact, creativity and overall excellence.
