Formed in Lawrence, Massachusetts in 1995, Godsmack is a famous American rock band known for their heavy, guitar-driven sound. They rose to fame in the late 1990s and early 2000s with the release of their self-titled debut album in 1998, which included hits such as “Whatever” and “Voodoo.” The band’s music is characterized by a fusion of alternative metal, hard rock and post-grunge elements, marked by powerful guitar riffs and powerful vocals.
Led by Sully Erna (vocals, rhythm guitar), Tony Rombola (lead guitar), Robbie Merrill (bass), and later joined by Shannon Larkin (drums), Godsmack achieved much success with follow-up albums such as Awake (2000). Platinum success, Faceless (2003) and IV (2006).
