Every New & Returning Animatronic In Five Nights At Freddy’s 2’s Teaser Trailer

The first teaser trailer for Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 has been released, and there are several animatronics, both new and returning, who are seen. The sequel takes place after the original Five Nights at Freddy’s and welcomes back the familiar cast of human characters led by Mike (Josh Hutcherson), Abby (Piper Rubio), and Vanessa (Elizabeth Lail). The human characters seen throughout Five Nights at Freddy’s 2‘s teaser trailer as they encounter new, horrifying animatronics left behind by William Afton (Matthew Lillard).

The original movie left Freddy Fazbear, Bonnie, Chica, Foxy, and Mr. Cupcake’s futures uncertain after Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza collapsed. However, it was known that Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 would include more animatronics to some degree. Five Nights at Freddy’s post-credits scene teased The Puppet’s introduction, while the involvement of the Toy models of the animatronics was a popular point of speculation. Now that the teaser trailer is here, many Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 animatronics are already confirmed.

Toy Bonnie

A Withered Bonnie Was In The First Movie

One of the earliest animatronics seen in the FNAF 2 teaser trailer is Toy Bonnie. She is largely concealed by a curtain that someone is peaking through, but the design elements that are seen make the identity clear. Toy Bonnie’s blue suit and the rabbit-like teeth in the center are both visible. Even the green eyes are a direct match for how Toy Bonnie looks in the Five Nights at Freddy’s video games. Toy Bonnie was introduced in the video game Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 as one of the animatronics at a new Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza location.

Toy Chica

The Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 teaser trailer offers several different glimpses of Toy Chica. The first comes as her bright blue eyes light up in a dark room, startling a human looking in. The footage then shows Toy Chica’s yellow hands crashing through the glass door to grab the man. Even her big orange feet areshown walking across the floor. Toy Chica is later seen lifting a garage door as she seemingly breaks into someone’s house. Toy Chica also made her first appearance in the video games in Five Nights at Freddy’s 2.

Mangle

A First Appearance For The Animatronic

Another animatronic introduced in Five Nights at Freddy’s 2‘s trailer is Mangle. The animatronics has an unmistakable design that’s completely different from the others seen in the franchise to this point. Mangle is built from various endoskeletons that are entirely exposed, has two different heads, and has hands and heads placed in the wrong areas. The uniqueness of Mangle’s design is seen throughout the FNAF 2 trailer as he boots up and pulls someone up from the vents. Mangle also made his game debut in Five Nights at Freddy’s 2.

Balloon Boy

The Returning Animatronic Has A New Design

Balloon Boy is back in Five Nights at Freddy’s 2, although this is seemingly not the same version featured in the first movie. Whereas Balloon Boy was a miniature toy in the previous installment, the teaser trailer gives him a new design that is even closer to the video games. It appears that we’re getting a proper version of Balloon Boy as a full animatronic, as he looks a lot bigger and has glowing eyes, signaling he’s part of the Toy lineup from the other Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza location.

Yellow Rabbit/Springtrap

Is This A Flashback?

There is also a brief tease of either Yellow Rabbit or Springtrap in Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 trailer. The yellow rabbit hand is shown picking up a knife in a very brief sequence. This may be a flashback showing Afton’s previous years in the Yellow Rabbit suit before the first movie. But, there’s also a chance this is after Five Nights at Freddy’s ending and the beginning of Afton’s time as Springtrap. Based on the state of the suit’s hand, a flashback seems more likely. That doesn’t mean Springtrap won’t emerge later on, though.

Toy Freddy

Freddy Fazbear Is Out In Public

The final animatronic seen in Five Nights at Freddy’s 2‘s teaser trailer is none other than Toy Freddy. He’s shown walking through a crowd of kids dressed in various Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza paraphernalia. It’s unclear if this is meant to be in the present day or if it is a flashback to when the pizzeria Toy Freddy and the other animatronics originated from was active. In any case, this is very clearly Toy Freddy with a very accurate video game design. Seeing him walk among so many potential victims is terrifying.

The Puppet

Five Nights At Freddy’s 2’s Trailer Song Teases The Villain

The Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 trailer included one other animatronic, The Puppet, in a clever way. Instead of directly showing The Puppet in its physical form, the trailer utilized a recognizable piece of music to further tease its presence. The music box song playing behind most of the footage is the same song that plays after winding up The Puppet’s music box in the video game. The creepy song is a critical reminder that The Puppet is lurking and somehow factors into the story Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 is telling.
