EA UFC 5 Update Patch Notes – All New Features

EA UFC 5

EA Sports UFC 5 is the latest game in the mixed martial arts series developed by EA Vancouver and published by EA Sports. The game releases for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on October 27, 2023, following the 2020 game EA Sports UFC 4. It’s worth noting that UFC 5 marks a departure from its predecessor, as it’s the first EA Sports game since Fight Night Champion. Earned a Mature (M) rating from the ESRB in 2011.

This is because the game has a realistic damage system and more explicit language in the career mode. Unlike earlier games that used the Ignite engine, UFC 5 runs on the Frostbite engine. According to Metacritic, reviews of the game were generally positive. For more details, you can check out more information and trailers on platforms like Gamerant and GameSpot.

EA UFC 5 Update Patch Notes

Here are the updated details for the November UFC 5 patch.

  • Increased long-term stamina cost of standing strikes.

  • Fixed an issue where too many exploits were being applied when returning from a side swing.

    • There will now be significantly less bugs, even less bugs than there were in UFC 4, which was our intention at launch and rocking buffs.

  • Fixed inconsistency between different types of jabs and straight punches.

  • Removed the stamina drain imposed on submissive fighters while in a headlock (standing guillotine) clinch position.

    • The dominant warrior’s stamina was still depleted. This may encourage a strategy of starting a guillotine submission immediately unless you are close enough to the cage to quickly walk to the cage, as starting the submission after reaching the cage will result in a slightly stronger entry.

  • Reduced the frequency with which the AI spins and uses spin attacks.

  • Fixed an issue that caused hook to back kick combos to be too slow. The combo should now have reasonable speed.

  • Reduced main slam range.

    • All four major jabs are now narrower in scope: jab, straight punch, front hook, and back hook. They used to have the same range as when sprinting. But from the perspective of a large sprint, this range looks a bit exaggerated, and the movement seems too fast. They should act in a more authentic way now. The dash versions of these attacks have not been nerfed.

  • Prevents the submissive fighter from using a flying knee when the attacker performs certain attacks using a kick catch.

    • It’s possible to throw flying knees in situations that don’t make sense, which can lead to some lag and unfair interactions. The submissive fighter can no longer throw flying knees when it doesn’t make sense, especially when the dominant fighter is kicking and has let go of the submissive’s leg.

EA UFC 5 Gameplay

In the gameplay of EA UFC 5, the focus is on delivering an incredibly realistic and immersive experience. Frostbite X Real Impact System takes center stage, introducing unparalleled graphical upgrades and a new damage system that truly impacts gameplay. Players can witness over 64,000 possible combinations of facial injuries, including cuts, bruises, and swelling, all of which dynamically affect character attributes.

The introduction of doctor checks and timeouts adds another layer of authenticity, allowing referees to pause play to allow sideline doctors to assess serious injuries. The game also features new attack and strike reactions, fresh animations for ground and pound strikes, spin attacks, and various attacks that accurately recreate the styles of different fighters.

The grappling system has been improved to provide smoother submissions and faster animations, eliminating mini-games for a more realistic ground-level gameplay experience. With EA UFC 5 now available globally, players can delve into the next generation of fighting games and experience unprecedented realism.
