dying light
“Dying Light” is a survival horror game launched by Techland and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment in 2015. It tells the story of an undercover agent named Kyle Crane in the zombie-infested city of Harlan ( Harran’s story. The game’s dynamic day and night cycle changes the behavior of zombies, making them more dangerous at night.
Players use weapons and parkour to survive. Development began in 2012 after Techland completed Dead Island, focusing on natural movement in parkour. This story is inspired by Heart of Darkness and The Plague, with some modifications for American audiences. While positive reviews praised the combat, graphics, multiplayer, and looping, criticism was directed at the story and technical issues.
“Dying Light” is selling very well, with sales exceeding 20 million copies by April 2022. Techland is supporting the game with updates and an expansion pack called Dying Light: The Following. The sequel, Dying Light 2, was released in February 2022.

Dying Light gameplay
Dying Light is a survival horror game in which players navigate the open world city of Harran, which is overrun by zombies. The game initially allows free exploration in the slums and then expands into the old city through the sewers. Players use parkour mechanics such as climbing, jumping, and sliding, and use grappling hooks to move around the environment and find supplies.
They can craft weapons, complete side missions, and find collectibles while using “survivor awareness” to locate loot and locked items. The game has a dynamic day-night cycle: during the day, players can set traps and scavenge for resources, while slow and visible infected are controlled. At night, the infected become more dangerous, agile, and deadly, prompting players to use stealth or use ultraviolet light for defense.
Combat involves melee weapons, crafted weapons, and ranged guns, each with limited durability and scarce ammo. Players earn experience points by participating in combat, parkour, and completing missions, thereby improving their skill tree. The game offers four-player co-op mode for campaign exploration and competitive challenges.

Additionally, the “Become a Zombie” mode allows players to control powerful infected creatures that challenge other creatures on the server. Dying Light blends parkour, combat, and survival into a challenging and thrilling zombie world.
dying light plot
In the story of Dying Light, undercover GRE agent Kyle Crane arrives in Harlan to retrieve stolen documents from Kadir Suleiman. After being bitten by an infected, he allied himself with the Tower survivors, led by Harris Brecken, to fight against the ruthless warlord Rais, who was hoarding vital supplies. Despite GRE instructions to deceive the tower, Crane discovered Rice’s true identity and became embroiled in unethical missions for him.
Rice betrayed Klein and provided minimal help when the anti-infective drug Antizine was desperately needed. Tragedy unfolds as Crane’s attempts to obtain the drug spark conflict, betrayal, and the revelation of GRE’s plan to weaponize the virus. In his search for a cure, Crane faces difficult choices and loses allies like Raheem and Jade.
As chaos escalates, Klan makes sacrifices to protect survivors and disrupts Department of Defense plans. Despite GRE’s manipulation, Crane chose to stay, help the survivors and ensure Harlan’s future was hopeful. In a final showdown atop a skyscraper, Crane defeats Rice, obtains important research results, and offers a glimmer of hope to the city by choosing to help the survivors rather than leave with a GRE test.
