- However, he chose to start his college basketball journey in the United States.
- American college career: Ramos played for the NCAA Division I California State University, Fullerton Titans from 2016 to 2018.
- He then joined California Polytechnic State University, Pomona, and played one season in the NCAA Division II league.
- Return to the Philippines and the UAAP: After graduating from college in the United States, Ramos returned to the Philippines to play for the Ateneo de Manila Blue Eagles of the UAAP.
- However, he had to go through a residency period before officially joining the UAAP in 2019.
