Bob Marley died in a Miami hospital on May 11, 1981, at the age of 36. He was born on February 6, 1945, in Nine Mile, St. Ann Parish, Jamaica. In 1977, he discovered melanoma, a form of skin cancer, under his toenail.
Initially he thought it was a football injury, but the cancer spread to his brain, lungs and stomach, leading to his death from melanoma in 1981.
