Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth gameplay

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is the second in a trilogy of remakes of the 1997 classic PlayStation game, continuing the storyline of Final Fantasy VII Remake and telling the story of the team’s escape from Midgar. Players will play as Cloud Strife, who joins Avalanche, thwarts Shinra’s ecological destruction plot, and faces the resurrected Sephiroth, expanding the character depth and storyline.

The game features real-time exploration and combat in a more open world setting than the remake. Objective markers help guide the main and side quests, while Chocobos can travel faster when equipped with specialized Chocobo Lure Materia. Combat is a blend of action melee and real-time battle (ATB) systems, allowing control of a group of characters that can switch roles during battle.

Characters use physical attacks, magic, and items for offense, defense, and revival, with a “synergy” feature that allows coordinated attacks at a low ATB cost, reminiscent of the “Episode INTERmission” DLC from “Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade.”

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth enriches the series with enhanced gameplay dynamics, providing players with a deeper, more immersive experience as they explore vast worlds, battle powerful enemies, and unravel the gripping story of the Final Fantasy universe.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Synopsis

In Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, Zack Fair finds himself in a timeline where the planet has run out of Mako, foreshadowing the end of the world. He takes in Cloud and Aerith, who are both unconscious, while Barrett and Tifa are captured by Shinra. They discover that Biggs, who was teleported from the original timeline, has met a tragic fate, and Zack is torn between saving Cloud and Aerith.

Cloud recounts his past with Sephiroth in the original timeline, revealing that he was an artificial being created from Jenova’s cells. Sephiroth’s descent into madness led to the destruction of Cloud’s hometown of Nibelheim. However, Tifa tells Aerith about her uncertainty about Cloud’s presence during the attack, adding to the complexity of their memories.

The team embarks on a journey across various lands to stop Sephiroth’s evil plan to summon destructive meteors. Along the way, they recruit allies to fight against the planet’s guardian – the weapon. In the absence of the Arbiter of Fate, the Whisperers are divided into two factions, one to help Sephiroth and the other to hinder him.

Aerith’s sacrifice and subsequent resurrection marked a pivotal moment in their fight against Sephiroth and led to a climactic final battle. Cloud sensed Aerith’s spirit and resolved to stop Sephiroth’s meteor, setting the stage for their final showdown.
