Chris Young (born June 12, 1985) is an American country music artist who gained widespread recognition in 2006 for his participation in the television show Nashville Star.
At the time, he was a resident singer at Cowboys Dance Hall in Texas, and at the encouragement of Park Scott and Keith Swan, he auditioned for the show. After winning the competition, he signed with RCA Records Nashville.
In 2007, Chris Young released his self-titled debut album, which included his first single, “Drinkin’ Me Lonely.” Produced by Buddy Cannon, the album showcased his traditional country style. In the following years, he released albums such as “The Man I Want to Be” (2009) and “Neon” (2011), both of which spawned multiple chart-topping singles.
