Beat Saber is a cool VR game made by three Slovaks, Ján Ilavský, Vladimír Hrinčár and Peter Hrinčár. It’s like dancing to music in a virtual world. In the game, you use a special glowing sword to cut blocks that fly to you in rhythm with the music. The blocks are like the beat of the music.
It has many different funky environments with bright colors and neon lights that look really cool. You feel like you are in a fantasy world! The game was first announced in May 2018, but it was not yet fully finished. Then, on May 21, 2019, it was officially released on PlayStation 4 and computers running Windows.
You can play this game using different VR headsets like HTC Vive, Oculus Quest, PlayStation VR, etc. So if you love music and dancing and have a VR headset, then you should give Beat Saber a try.
Beat Saber Gameplay
In Beat Saber, players use VR controllers to swing a glowing sword to cut approaching blocks to the beat of music. The sword is usually red and blue, but players can change the color. The blocks appear in a grid pattern, and each block is marked with an arrow or dot to indicate the direction to cut.

Points are awarded for correctly cutting blocks, and hitting bombs or avoiding obstacles keeps the player safe. When the player hits a note correctly, a fill bar appears, but if the player misses or cuts the wrong way, the fill bar decreases. If the fill bar empties, the game ends, unless the “no fail” setting is enabled. Combos occur when the player cuts blocks consecutively, which earns extra points.
New mechanics were added in the update, such as Chains and Arcs. Chains involve cutting in a sequence, while Arcs show a path to follow. A multiplayer mode allows players to compete against each other, with badges awarded for outstanding performance. Initially, Beat Saber came with ten songs, but more have been added through updates and downloadable content packs. Players can also add custom songs and maps through community-made modifications. Each song has a different difficulty level, ranging from Easy to Expert+.
