Offerman has been in three separate episodes, while Mullally has a recurring role as Gayle, Linda’s hard-to-love sister, among other roles. Their appearances have only overlapped in one episode. In season 3, episode 3, “Bob Fires The Kids,” Offerman and Mullally play the on-screen elderly hippy couple, Cooper and Beverly. Their soothing yet kind voices complement the characters well, showing their calm yet eager nature in the episode.

6 Ernest & Celestine (2012)
Georges and Lucien
Offerman and Mullally also play two bear parents in the English dubbing of a Belgian animated film, Ernest & Celestine. Offerman plays Georges, a candy shop owner, and Mullally plays his on-screen wife, Lucien, who is a dentist. The two are the parents of Leon, a young bear cub who just lost his first tooth. In their initial scene, they discuss the tooth fairy and why she gives out money, which relates to the themes of the movie.
The movie is based on a children’s book series of the same name by Gabrielle Vincent.
The film revolves around themes of dentistry and teeth. Georges and Lucien’s occupations go into these motifs, as Georges’s candy rots teeth and Lucien’s job fixes them. They see this as a way to maximize profit, making earnings from both ends. The two are more nefarious than they seem, not understanding the main characters and trying to earn a quick buck. They represent the archetype of misunderstanding parents, who don’t quite see the appeal of a child’s fantasy world.
5 Hotel Transylvania 2 (2015)
Mike and Linda Loughran
Close
The couple also both lent their voices to a married couple in Hotel Transylvania 2, playing Johnny’s human parents, the Loughrans. Offerman’s voice works well for Mike’s straightforward and dry personality, which is also exemplified in many of the other characters he plays. Mullally’s high-pitched and excited voice fits Linda’s eager persona well, bringing joy to Mike’s blandness. These are often the types of roles the actors fall into, which works well with their personas and performances.
The two are fish-out-of-water characters who visit the monster world to see their grandson. The movie mainly concerns Drac (Adam Sandler)’s relationship with his potentially monstrous grandchild, but the Loughrans complicate the plot, representing the human world. Offerman and Mullally play their characters well, adding tension and comedy to the film.

Count Dracula (reluctantly) invites viewers to return in Hotel Transylvania 2, an animated comedy adventure film that takes place sometime after the original movie, with his daughter and human son-in-law returning with their new son to spend more time with his grandfather. Though the hotel has never been more prosperous due to the lax rules and more inclusive clientele, Dracula fears that his grandson isn’t properly growing into his fangs as a vampire, so he enlists the help of his ghoulish friends to train him to be a proper monster. To make things worse, his own father, Vlad, makes an impromptu visit.

4 The Great North
Beef Tobin and Alyson Lefebvrere
Close
In the Fox animated series, The Great North, Nick Offerman stars as the patriarch of the Tobin family, Beef Tobin. Though he is a single father for most of the film, he seeks romantic connection at the encouragement of some of his children, despite his still complicated relationship with his ex-wife. Beef courts Alyson Lefebvrere, voiced by Megan Mullally, the mall’s photography studio manager. Despite his ignorance, Alyson is clearly interested in Beef and often makes moves on him, though they are admittedly not very direct.
Both of the adults are awkward and struggle to be flirtatious or appropriate. However, they have an on-and-off love story throughout the series, as they often like each other at different points. The actors’ chemistry helps propel their love story forward, even if the two characters often don’t know what to say or do. Episodes that highlight their relationship include season 3, episode 15, “Can’t Hardly Date Adventure,” and season 2, episode 6, “Skidmark Holmes Adventure.”
3 Will & Grace
Karen and Nick
One of Mullally’s best-known roles is Karen Walker in Will & Grace. Offerman joined the show in two guest roles: as Nick the plumber during the original series, and Jackson Boudreaux in the revival series in 2018. The show’s on-screen romance between Karen and Nick was in a 2001 episode, two years before the couple was married in real life. Offerman played Mullally’s on-screen lover in a two-part episode of the show’s fourth season.
In the Thanksgiving episode “Moveable Feast,” Offerman shows up as a plumber just as Karen is looking for a man to be with at the request of her husband, Stan, who is in jail. As Nick fixes the sink, Karen can’t help but flirt with him. Her advances go initially unreceived, as Nick focuses on his work and doesn’t understand the situation. Finally, she makes a move on him. But, ridden with guilt for cheating on her husband, Karen alternates between kissing Nick and slapping him in the face. Nick the plumber does not return in later episodes.

1 Parks and Recreation
Ron Swanson And Tammy II
Close
Offerman is well known for his role as the stoic leader Ron Swanson on Parks and Recreation. Though Ron is known for his straightforwardness and strong opinions, he also has a comically bad taste in women. He has two ex-wives in the show, both named Tammy, who come to terrorize the Pawnee Parks and Recreation Department. Mullally plays Ron’s second ex-wife, referred to as Tammy II, an overly sexual and crude librarian. Tammy uses her knowledge of Ron’s lust to her advantage, swaying his usually rigid opinions. Ron knows she is manipulating him but claims he is powerless against her.
Tammy II proves herself to be a bad influence on Ron, distracting him from his work and corrupting his morals. Much to the rest of the department’s chagrin, Tammy II appears nine times in the series, including in episodes titled “Ron and Tammy” (season 2), “Ron and Tammy 2” (season 3), and “Ron and Tammys” (season 4). The two even get remarried during a chaotic and drunken night. However, Ron eventually distances himself from Tammy II, leaving Mullally as a guest actor instead of a series regular.
Ron and Tammy have a chaotic and dangerous relationship in the show, which comically reverses their public relationship off-screen. Offerman has credited their ability to perform toxicity together to their closeness in real life, allowing them to push limits that would otherwise be professionally taboo. The couple improvised many of the on-screen fights and their unusual kissing methods throughout the series, relying on their comfort with each other.

The couple has also starred in several shows and films together as characters who aren’t romantically involved. This includes The Kings of Summer, Axe Cop, and Childrens Hospital. Their constant collaboration shows the strength of their relationship, both romantic and professional, as they can repeatedly prove why they make a good pair. Ideally, there will be more collaborations between Nick Offerman and Megan Mullally in the future, either live-acted or voice work, that will satisfy audiences. Nevertheless, there is still a plethora of work that showcases their on and off-screen chemistry.
