Despite the variety of approaches to adapting Batman’s story to the big screen, their quality typically shines through. Every Batman movie adds a new dimension to the character’s story, leading to many excellent scenes throughout his history. Some of them remain every bit as excellent on reexamination, holding their quality sometimes even over multiple decades. With that in mind, here are the 10 most rewatchable scenes in Batman’s movie history.
10 The Batpod’s Debut
The Dark Knight (2008)

You are watching: 10 Most Rewatchable Batman Movie Scenes
Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy is widely hailed as one of the greatest ever made, and is comprised of three excellent movies. The second, 2008’s The Dark Knight, is commonly considered one of the best movies ever made, and features many rewatchable scenes. One in particular shows off some of Batman’s gadgets as reimagined by Christopher Nolan, with the Tumbler Batmobile transforming into the Batpod in a single unforgettable sequence.
The Dark Knight trilogy’s armored Batmobile was more a tank than a traditional car, making the introduction of the Batpod even more perfect. Sacrificing the armor for incredible maneuverability, Batman showcases the Batpod’s capabilities in a well-crafted scene that remains one of The Dark Knight’s most exciting action sequences. No matter how many times it’s rewatched, the Batpod’s introduction in The Dark Knight remains a near-flawless scene.
9 Batman & Penguin’s Highway Chase
The Batman (2022)

There have been many versions of the Batmobile in live-action, and 2022’s The Batman offered up an interesting take on the iconic vehicle. In line with Matt Reeves’ grounded vision of Gotham City and its Caped Crusader, The Batman’s Batmobile put a more realistic spin on Batman’s most-renowned piece of equipment. Though it only prominently features in a single scene in the movie, the Batmobile makes for one of The Batman’s best sequences.
The scene shows Batman chasing the Penguin in order to interrogate him. The high-speed chase highlights just a handful of the Batmobile’s abilities in Matt Reeves’ continuity, but the speed and style it’s presented with makes the scene one of the movie’s most epic. It’s as exciting as it is promising for The Batman’s franchise future, making it incredibly rewatchable in more ways than one.

8 Bane Defeats Batman
The Dark Knight Rises (2012)
The Dark Knight Rises does more than just round off Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy; it also depicts one of Batman’s greatest challenges in live-action. As a hero, Batman has had to overcome a great deal across his cinematic history, but few challenges have ever been quite so difficult as defeating Bane. In one of the most intense fight scenes in Batman movies, the pair’s first encounter ends in tragedy for the hero.
The scene not only shows Bane convincingly beating Batman in battle, but brutally rendering the Dark Knight immobile in a vicious and calculated attack. After coming out of retirement, it’s clear that Batman isn’t at his best, and Bane savagely toys with him before breaking his back in a moment lifted straight from the pages of DC Comics. As brutal as it is to watch, the pair’s first showdown remains incredibly rewatchable.

7 Batman Fights Superman
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016)
Batman’s first appearance in the movies of the DCEU was considered incredibly divisive upon release, but a number of scenes from the film have since become more popular in hindsight. Zack Snyder’s vision for Batman v Superman’s titular heroes was a dark and gritty one, and though that didn’t mesh with some other depictions of the characters, it did make for an unforgettable showdown. As the movie’s name implies, one scene sees Batman face off against none other than the Man of Steel himself.

A non-powered vigilante against an alien with god-like powers seems a clear mismatch, although Batman is able to even the odds with a little ingenuity. After crafting multiple gadgets and weapons, Batman is able to gain the upper hand in battle against Superman, almost killing his fellow hero. As dark a moment as it is, the battle between two of DC’s greatest heroes remains an incredibly entertaining watch years after its release.
6 Shutting Down Drug Dealers
Batman Begins (2005)
Batman Begins is far from the Dark Knight trilogy’s most popular movie, but its inventive approach to adapting Batman’s origin story is commendable. There are a few scenes in the movie that stand out, but perhaps the greatest of all is the first scene in which Batman sets out to fight crime. Seeing Bruce Wayne make full use of his various gadgets and training for the first time is a triumphant moment that is incredibly rewatchable.

Shutting down a shipment of drugs, Batman stalks Falcone’s henchmen one by one through a shadowy dockyard full of shipping containers. The way in which the scene is presented is more horror movie than superhero cinema, perfectly outlining the fear Batman uses to psychologically defeat his enemies. It’s such a well-crafted scene in a visual and thematic sense, and its relevance to Batman’s Dark Knight trilogy story makes it unforgettable.
5 “I’m Vengeance”
The Batman (2022)

Despite being another grounded Batman introduction, The Batman’s opening scene takes a different approach to showcasing its hero’s abilities. After a brief monologue that establishes Batman’s purpose and the effect his early days of crimefighting have had on Gotham, The Batman focuses on a gang of criminals tormenting a civilian at a dimly lit train station. From the shadows, Batman appears, and a one-sided fight ensues.
The ease with which Batman takes down multiple criminals armed with various weapons is remarkable, as is the speed and ferocity of the scene. The Batman’s first real presentation of its hero is as brutal as it is memorable, and it perfectly encapsulates exactly what Robert Pattinson’s Batman is about. His growled delivery of the “I’m Vengeance” line only serves to make the scene even better, making it another singularly rewatchable sequence.
4 Batman’s Introduction
Batman (1989)

The theatricality of Batman as a hero is a trait that lends itself perfectly to cinematic adaptations, and few directors have understood that idea as well as Tim Burton. 1989 marked Burton’s live-action adaptation of Batman, ushering the hero into the modern era of superhero cinema in Burton’s dark and gothic style. The movie’s opening scene emphatically introduces Batman, establishing that he’s not just a hero, he’s essentially a mythic being on the streets of Gotham.
Every single element of the scene can be described as perfectly crafted for Burton’s Batman world. Batman emerges from the shadows, brutally defeats the criminals, inspiring fear in the one he leaves most unscathed. When asked “what are you?”, he simply explains: “I’m Batman”, making for an iconic cinematic moment for the hero that has proven to be endlessly rewatchable.

3 Interrogating The Joker
The Dark Knight (2008)

There are many moments in The Dark Knight that could be considered rewatchable, especially where Heath Ledger’s Joker is involved. Nowhere is the charisma of the villain and his place within Nolan’s trilogy clearer than the scene in which Batman interrogates the imprisoned Joker, having the pair come completely face to face for the first real time. The scene is legendary in the wider context of Batman’s movie history, making it well worth revisiting.
The mounting tension between the violent and impatient Batman and the frenetic but unnervingly calm Joker is masterful, and speaks to their respective characters. Joker’s plan is then revealed to be unfolding just as he had hoped, and Batman loses control of himself. It’s a scene that briefly makes its audience question who they should be rooting for before flipping everything on its head with one of the most tragic moments in the entire trilogy.

2 Batman Vs Prison Guards
The Flash (2023)
Though The Flash was widely considered a critical and commercial failure, it does contain what might just be one of the most underrated Batman movie scenes of all time. The movie sees its titular hero travel to an alternate reality, where he teams up with Michael Keaton’s aging Batman, hoping to free a captive Kryptonian from captivity. The jailbreak scene contains some of the best Batman action ever committed to film.
After Flash finds his way into the prison, the camera pans up to show Keaton’s Batman looming above. He swoops into the fray, taking out multiple villains in a display of moves that feel lifted directly from the comics. It’s a scene that helps justify bringing Keaton’s Batman back after such a long hiatus, as his potential as a hero is plain to see, and the execution of its action is understatedly perfect.

1 The Warehouse Fight
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016)
As much as Batman is the world’s greatest detective, he’s also a hero, and that means that his movies generally contain some action. The DCEU faced a considerable challenge, as it needed to justify Batman as a fighter alongside powerful metahumans that logically should have rendered him redundant. Batman v Superman gave Ben Affleck’s Batman a truly outstanding action sequence that showcased just what the hero could do under the right conditions.

Taking on a warehouse of criminals single-handedly in order to rescue Martha Kent saw Affleck’s Batman launch into action in the most brutal way imaginable. The DCEU’s Batman wasn’t too concerned with leaving his enemies alive, and he takes out the criminals in truly epic fashion, all presented in Zack Snyder’s inimitable style. As such, Batman v Superman’s warehouse scene is one of the most rewatchable in all of Batman’s movie history.
