10 Most Powerful Avengers Not Yet Seen In The MCU

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has introduced many heroes to its version of the Avengers, but some of the team’s most powerful members have yet to appear in the franchise. The movies of the MCU have seen the franchise grow not just into a hugely successful cinematic enterprise, but also one of the biggest shared universes of all time. This has seen many Marvel heroes introduced into the franchise, with a considerable number serving as members of the Avengers in that time.

The MCU’s movie timeline hasn’t introduced all of Marvel Comics’ most powerful Avengers, however. In fact, the truth is that many of the strongest members of the team from the comics have yet to appear in the MCU at all, with scope to introduce them at a later stage of the franchise. Some are already set to debut in the near future, while others have not yet been so much as teased. With that in mind, here are the 10 most powerful Avengers we’ve not yet seen in the MCU.

10

Wonder Man

Wonder Man Will Soon Appear In The MCU

Close

One of the biggest MCU projects coming in 2025 is Wonder Man, with the titular hero set to make his live-action debut in the series. As of yet, though, he has not appeared in the franchise, and the MCU’s set-up for the hero can be considered minimal at best. Within the wider Marvel Universe, Wonder Man is a massively powerful hero who has also served as a long-standing member of the Avengers.

Wonder Man’s expansive powers stem from ionic energy. They include enhanced strength and speed, flight, invulnerability, regenerative healing, shapeshifting, teleportation, and size alteration, and in addition, the ionic energy has rendered him effectively immortal. Wonder Man has been a long-standing Avenger in the comics, playing a part in the team’s exploits on many notable occasions in a number of stories. Considering this, he will undoubtedly be an important and exciting addition to the MCU.

9

Moondragon

Moondragon Is One Of Earth’s Most Powerful Telepaths

Close

Moondragon is a rare case for unintroduced MCU characters, as she has been mentioned within the franchise. In the comics, Moondragon is Drax the Destroyer’s daughter, though she was only mentioned as having been killed by Ronan the Accuser in the MCU. This means that, although she has been indirectly confirmed as existing within the franchise, there has been no specific tease about her actual live-action debut due to her apparent death.

In the comics, Moondragon is one of Earth’s most powerful telepaths, and a prominent member of multiple teams. As well as being part of the Guardians of the Galaxy and the Infinity Watch, Moondragon has often served as an Avenger within the Marvel Universe. This means that not only is she a powerful member of the team, but one that has yet to appear in the MCU.

8

Crystal

As Well As Being A Prominent Inhuman, Crystal Has Been An Avenger

Close

Despite having appeared in Inhumans, Crystal’s place in the MCU is unconfirmed. The short-lived show featured Crystal as part of its cast, though it exists on the fringes of the MCU proper. This means that Crystal is yet to appear in a major MCU release, despite being a relatively major part of the wider Marvel Universe in its comic book continuity.

As well as being one of Marvel’s most notable Inhumans, Crystal boasts unique ties to multiple major Marvel teams. She has also forged connections with both the X-Men and the Fantastic Four, and has served as an Avenger on more than one occasion. Additionally, she enjoys a wide range of powers: her Inhuman physiology grants her increased strength, speed, and durability, and she is also able to control the elements. This range of powers makes her an asset to any team, and she may yet join the MCU’s Avengers.

7

Sentry

Sentry Is Set To Finally Make His MCU Debut

Close

Sentry is another character set to join the MCU in 2025, as he is billed as part of the cast of Thunderbolts*. After Steven Yeun was announced in the role but forced to drop out due to scheduling issues, he was replaced by Lewis Pullman, who has been confirmed as the MCU’s version of the hero. In the comics, Sentry is one of the most powerful members of the Avengers.

Sentry’s list of abilities is extensive, and combined makes him one of the most powerful figures in the entire Marvel Universe. He has been allied with the Avengers for a long time in the comics, and has served as one of the team’s most powerful members. Sentry’s seemingly immeasurable power levels make him a formidable hero within the Marvel Universe, and an Avenger that will undeniably make an excellent entry into the MCU.

6

Nova

Nova Has Been Teased In The MCU, But Has Not Appeared

Close

Nova is yet another hugely important Avenger who has, as yet, been absent from the MCU. In the comics, multiple characters have operated under the name, with the most famous being Richard Rider. Nova’s abilities stem from the Nova Force, which aid him in his responsibilities as a member of the Nova Corps, an intergalactic police force. Nova also boasts a long-standing role with the Avengers in the Marvel Universe.

Nova’s abilities make him a powerful hero, but his power levels have also been boosted in Marvel Comics’ continuity. After taking possession of the Xandarian Worldmind, Nova was afforded near-infinite control of the Nova Force, massively enhancing his abilities. This has seen him become one of Marvel’s most powerful Avengers, though the MCU has not yet made any considerable progress towards introducing Nova within the franchise.

5

Hyperion

Marvel’s Superman Has Become A Powerful Avenger

Close

Hyperion is a name that has been used by many characters in the comics, as multiple versions from across the Multiverse have featured in different stories. Hyperion’s most common origin story is that he one of the last members of the race of Eternals in the Marvel Universe, and though he has commonly been featured as a villain, more recent incarnations have joined the Avengers and served as important members of the hero team.

Created as a pastiche of DC’s Superman, Hyperion possesses a similar array of abilities to his iconic inspiration. As well as super strength, speed, and senses, Hyperion possesses heat vision, the ability to fly, and, in some incarnations, regenerative powers. Hyperion’s list of abilities makes him a powerful hero in the Marvel Universe, albeit one who has not even been so much as teased to appear within the MCU.

4

Blue Marvel

Blue Marvel’s Broad Power Set Makes Him An Asset To The Avengers

Close

Blue Marvel might not be the most well-known Marvel character, but he’s undoubtedly one of Earth’s mightiest heroes. Having made many appearances since his first introduction in 2008, Blue Marvel is one of Marvel’s most unsung heroes, as he has often played a major part in protecting the Earth both on his own and as a part of multiple prominent superhero teams, perhaps the most notable being Luke Cage’s Mighty Avengers.

Blue Marvel’s powers stem from his ability to absorb the energy from matter-anti-matter annihilation from the Negative Zone. This affords him an array of abilities, including strength rivaling that of Hulk, Thor, and Sentry, energy and anti-matter manipulation, and near-invulnerability alongside his natural genius-level intellect and combat skills. These varied abilities make Blue Marvel an especially powerful Avenger, and one who has yet to appear in any capacity in the MCU.

3

Captain Britain

Captain Britain Has Often Supported The Avengers

Close

Though Captain Britain has not yet appeared or even been announced in the MCU, there has been much talk of the franchise’s iteration of the hero. This has mostly stemmed from Henry Cavill naming Captain Britain as the Marvel character he’d most want to play, with largely positive reactions towards the hypothetical casting. However, the closest the MCU has come to introducing him was the brief mention of the name Braddock during Avengers: Endgame.

The original incarnation of Captain Britain, Brian Braddock, possesses a range of abilities whose source has changed over the decades since his introduction. Superhuman speed, strength, agility, and durability, as well as flight and the projection of force fields and energy beams have all been staples of Captain Britain’s arsenal. He has prominently appeared as a member of many teams, most notably the Secret Avengers, making Captain Britain one more powerful Avenger who has not yet debuted in the MCU.

2

Quasar

Quasar Is A Cosmic Hero Who Has Been An Avenger For Decades

Close

Quasar is yet another of Marvel’s Superman-like characters who possess impressively powerful abilities but have not yet been established in the MCU. A cosmic character likened to Adam Warlock or the Silver Surfer, Quasar is unique in his characterization as an everyman who also happens to possess superhuman abilities. Granted his powers by the use of Quantum Bands, Quasar has proved an understated mainstay of the Marvel Universe in the comics.

Quasar’s main abilities are similar to those of Captain Marvel, as he is able to fly and manipulate energy, as well as teleport. These have been used to great effect in his many adventures across the Marvel Universe, and have made him a long-serving member of the Avengers. Considering his membership in the comic book team and his versatile power set, Quasar could make yet another powerful addition to the MCU’s roster of heroes.

Captain Universe

The Mantle Of Captain Universe Comes With Incredible Power

Close

Captain Universe’s role within Marvel’s continuity is not as straightforward as that of many other heroes, as it’s a persona that has been used by many characters. Captain Universe is the protector of Eternity, who is granted incredible power by the Uni-Mind. Though Eternity appeared in the MCU in the cast of Thor: Love and Thunder, Captain Universe was not introduced into the franchise.

The mantle of Captain Universe comes with a major power boost to its wielder. This includes cosmic consciousness, telekinesis, and molecular manipulation, as well as superhuman strength and speed, to name just some of Captain Universe’s abilities. Many characters have assumed the role of Captain Universe while also serving as Avengers, indirectly making the character a member of the team that would also prove a major asset should they be introduced into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
