10 She-Hulk Twerks With Megan Thee Stallion
She-Hulk: Attorney At Law Episode 3, “The People Vs. Emil Blonsky” (2022)
Close
She-Hulk: Attorney at Law was one of the most divisive projects in the MCU’s Phase 4, with some criticism given to its visual effects, which noticeably lacked quality. However, perhaps the show’s most controversial moment came in the post-credits scene of episode 3, “The People vs. Emil Blonsky.” This scene saw Jennifer Walters’ She-Hulk sign Megan Thee Stallion as a client at GLK&H, before the pair dance to the tune of “Body” by Megan Thee Stallion, which includes the pair twerking in She-Hulk’s office.
Perhaps not the most professional Jennifer Walters has been, this dance scene became controversial, with some claiming it proved just how far the MCU had fallen. Some claimed it didn’t fit the tone of the MCU, and even sexualized the character unnecessarily. However, She-Hulk dancing in this manner fits her character perfectly, and is very comic-accurate, as She-Hulk has always had her finger on the pulse of society in Marvel Comics, and keeps up with pop culture. Twerking with Megan Thee Stallion is exactly something She-Hulk would do, and it was incredibly entertaining to see in the MCU.
9 Tony Stark Dances To Suit Up As Iron Man
Iron Man 3 (2013)
Close
Many will die on the hill that Iron Man 3 is indeed a Christmas movie, and this scene, which sees Tony Stark grooving to the Bombay Dub Orchestra Remix of “Jingle Bells,” proves this argument correct. This saw Tony Stark testing out his new Mark 42 Iron Man armor, which responds to the activation of sensors implanted in his body, allowing him to suit up from great distances. Stark’s dancing at this moment is brief, but solidifies the Avenger’s affinity for the Holiday period, as he seems to truly feel the music.
Related Iron Man Movies, Ranked From Worst To Best
Iron Man is arguably the most iconic character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and each of his three solo movies is incredibly different.
This scene plays out as if Tony Stark’s entire suiting up sequence as Iron Man is a delicate dance. The aggressive nature of the Mark 42 armor’s response means Stark must bust some serious moves to suit up safely, including a series of flips and tricks that sees him end with an iconic superhero landing. This was a great way to remind audiences of Stark’s fun-loving and confident personality, while also putting the badass nature of Iron Man himself front-and-center.

The loss of the original Groot in 2014’s Guardians of the Galaxy was hugely emotional, but this allowed Baby Groot to appear in the 2017 sequel. Baby Groot’s introduction in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is one of the MCU’s most memorable moments, as the youngest Guardian dances to the tune of Electric Light Orchestra’s “Mr. Blue Sky” while the rest of the team fight to take down an Abelisk on the hunt for anulax batteries. The focus is on Baby Groot’s expert dancing, however, with the Guardians’ battle occurring in the background.
Director James Gunn himself provided the motion capture for Baby Groot’s dancing to ELO during
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’s
opening credits.
Music and dance have always had a pivotal role in James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy franchise, as this established Peter Quill’s one connection to his home on Earth, and heightened the emotion and power of many scenes. Baby Groot’s dancing is one of the best, as this scene shows just how adorable the new iteration of Groot is, and how intelligent and curious he is, too. Groot’s mini-adventure during the Guardians’ battle against the Abelisk was a hugely entertaining and smile-inducing way to open Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.
7 Zemo Lets Loose In Madripoor
The Falcon & The Winter Soldier Episode 3, “Power Broker” (2021)
Close
Daniel Brühl’s return as Baron Helmut Zemo in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier was incredibly popular, not least because it provided the opportunity to see more of the Sokovian soldier’s personality. This was never more evident than it was in episode 3, “Power Broker,” which saw Zemo join Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes in Madripoor to find the source of the Flag Smashers’ super-soldier serum. While waiting for Sharon Carter, Zemo takes the opportunity to bust some moves on the dancefloor in a now-iconic scene.
The stern and stoic Zemo from 2016’s Captain America: Civil War is far more free in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. His dancing quickly went viral, as many would have found it hard to imagine the master manipulator who managed to divide the Avengers breaking out into dance in a Madripoor nightclub. Brühl has recently hinted at his return to the MCU, which means more brilliant moments such as this dance sequence could be seen in the franchise’s future.
6 Tony Stark & Pepper Potts Dance For The First Time
Iron Man (2008)
Close
Tony Stark and Pepper Potts came together to form one of the strongest and long-running relationships in the MCU, and while this didn’t officially begin until 2010’s Iron Man 2, Marvel Studios’ first movie began to plant the seeds of this budding romance. When Stark shows up uninvited to a charity event being held by his company, Stark Industries, he asks Pepper Potts to dance for the first time. Instead of being an entirely romantic moment, however, Stark’s then-assistant takes the chance to express her embarrassment and awkwardness at this invitation.
This scene was not only the beginning of hints at a future romance between Tony Stark and Pepper Potts, but was also a great chance to demonstrate the chemistry between Robert Downey Jr. and Gwyneth Paltrow. The pair played perfectly together on-screen, and this dance scene marked the very beginning of their long journey in the MCU, which culminated in an established marriage and family unit in Avengers: Endgame. This funny dance scene shared between Stark and Potts, though mostly inconsequential, has become one of the MCU’s most memorable moments.
5 Peter Quill’s Dance-Off Saved Xandar
Guardians Of The Galaxy (2014)
Close
James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy franchise has included many of the MCU’s best dance moments, as music is regularly used within the context of the story. While Chris Pratt’s introduction as Peter Quill in 2014’s Guardians of the Galaxy saw him grooving to Redbone’s “Come and Get Your Love”, his dance scene at the end of the Phase 2 movie was even more entertaining. After failing to stop Ronan the Accuser from making it to Xandar, all hope seemed lost for the Guardians of the Galaxy, but Peter Quill had one more trick up his sleeve.

Peter Quill decides that engaging Ronan in a dance-off would be his best chance at saving Xandar and the Nova Corps. To the tune of Five Stairsteps’ “O-o-h Child,” Peter Quill brought out his best dance moves, distracting Ronan long enough for Rocket to build a weapon capable of destroying the Kree’s hammer, allowing Star-Lord to acquire the Power Stone and save Xandar. This dance-off was hilarious and a true display of Quill’s joyous personality and affinity for music, but it also culminated in one of the franchise’s most powerful moments.

Iman Vellani’s debut as Kamala Khan in Phase 4 marked a huge celebration of culture and representation, introducing the first Muslim superhero to the MCU. This was clearly put on display in episode 3, “Destined,” which featured the much anticipated wedding between Kamala’s brother, Aamir Khan, and his fiancée, Tyesha. As is tradition, Aamir and Tyesha’s wedding included a fantastic and lengthy dance sequence that saw the entire Khan clan break out their best dance moves to celebrate the pair’s joyous union.

Muneeba, Yusuf, Kamala and even Bruno Carrelli graced the dancefloor in Ms. Marvel, before Aamir and Tyesha took to the stage themselves. This sequence showed the tight bond shared by the Khan family, immediate and extended, and was a great way to bring Pakistani and Muslim culture into the MCU for the first time ever. Full of color, vibrancy and joy, this dance moment will certainly be remembered as one of the MCU’s best and most entertaining.
3 Steve Rogers Finally Gets His Dance With Peggy Carter
Avengers: Endgame (2019)
Close
Although this was one of the MCU’s more subtle and subdued dance moments, watching Steve Rogers and Peggy Carter finally get their dance at the end of Avengers: Endgame was hugely satisfying and cathartic. Since the World War II-set Captain America: The First Avenger, Rogers and Carter had been planning their first date, during which Carter promised to show Rogers how to dance. Captain America: The Winter Soldier saw Rogers remind an ailing and elderly Carter of their deal, shortly before her passing, so it was great to see this long-running story finally paid off.
Steve Rogers and Peggy Carter dance to “It’s Been a Long, Long Time” by Harry James’ Orchestra and Kitty Allen in
Avengers: Endgame
– a very apt song for the long-awaiting lovers.
Avengers: Endgame marked the end of the road for several of the MCU’s original Avengers members, and while Tony Stark and Natasha Romanoff laid down their lives to defeat Thanos, Captain America was able to get his happy ending. He retired in the past after returning the Infinity Stones to their respective timelines, reuniting with Peggy Carter in the 1950s, presumably in an alternate timeline. After waiting decades to be together, “It’s Been a Long, Long Time,” a song about homecoming after the war, summed up Rogers and Carter’s relationship in one of the MCU’s most beautiful and touching scenes.
2 The Guardians Of The Galaxy Celebrate Their Final Victory
Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3 (2023)
Close
It would be remiss to include dance moments from Guardians of the Galaxy and its 2017 sequel and not include one from the trilogy-capper, 2023’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. The Phase 5 movie marked the final mission for the original Guardians of the Galaxy team, though it was an incredibly happy ending, as the team disbanded to embark on their own new adventures. Vol. 3 closed with an epic dance sequence that saw the entire citizenry of Knowhere let loose to the tune of Florence + the Machine’s “Dog Days Are Over.”

Florence & The Machine’s singer reacting to her song’s emotional use in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 in a video is deeply heartwarming.
Guardians of the Galaxy members Rocket, Groot, Nebula, Kraglin, Cosmo and even the immovable Drax danced and cheered to celebrate their victory over the High Evolutionary. This scene easily incites goosebumps and tears from even the most hardened audience member, as it’s a remarkably emotional and cathartic send-off for the original line-up. If the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise ends here (no further movies have been confirmed), this would make for a fantastic final scene, showing the love, passion and energy that went behind every moment of the franchise.
1 Deadpool Dances While Taking On The TVA
Deadpool & Wolverine (2024)
Close
The most recent dance sequence in the MCU has quickly become one of the most beloved moments in the franchise’s entire history, as Deadpool & Wolverine’s dance scene has captured audiences’ imaginations across the world. While fighting Time Variance Authority Minute Men, using the adamantium bones of Earth-10005’s Wolverine as weapons, Deadpool boogies to the tune of NSYNC’s “Bye Bye Bye.” This would be hilarious enough, but Deadpool uses the exact dance moves that NSYNC performed to their hit 2000 song.
Professional dancer Nick Pauley sported the Deadpool suit to pull off these incredible moves, spliced with scenes of sheer brutality and gore as Deadpool took on the TVA. This created a very entertaining and insanely funny few moments at the very beginning of Deadpool & Wolverine, marking a wonderful debut for the Merc with a Mouth in the MCU. This moment will certainly go down in history as perhaps the strongest dance scene in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, though it will certainly not be the franchise’s last.
